Disney Cast Member was forced to quit over bathroom air freshener

I want to say that I can't believe it, but this is totally what Disney does. You're a number. Not a name. Not a person.
Unfortunately, Disney is no different than any other multi-billion dollar international corporation, and it has been for quite some time now, even though alot of people try to romanticize the Disney of 30-40 years ago as being a big mom-and-pop family operation. Even in the 60s before Walt died, Disney was getting too big to be anything but a profit-driven entity, but at least Walt and Roy were around to make sure that quality of show and customer service were second to none.

...and I clicked on it! I feel dirty now. Lemon-scented, but dirty.
Saw this story on that page as well: http://www.wftv.com/news/local/neig...ests-fireworks-show-late-into-night/519018618
Apparently, this is what constitutes news at WFTV. Seems to me that, if you live within a close proximity to WDW, this is going to happen on a regular basis, and if this is a problem, find somewhere else to live. When are they supposed to test new fireworks but after the park closes?

A few things here.
1) Disney is the largest employer in Florida, with over 60,000 employees/CMs.
2) Disney is the major draw for tourism and revenue in Florida.
3) Anything "Disney" related, or even close to the area around the WDW resort is newsworthy, even if minor, because of 1 & 2.
4) Central Florida is experiencing a very dry Spring/early Summer, and there have been numerous wildfires burning thousands of acres.
5) Thousands of people visit WDW on a daily basis from all over the world.

So, while these may seem trivial, the combination of any of those means almost anything at or around WDW is going to make the news, locally, and sometimes even nationally. All because it's "Disney".

Sorry this woman lost her job and retirement benefits. Does anyone know what type of job this woman was performing and where the workplace was located? Was the air freshener so bad in every restroom in the building that there was not another she could use? Was there another job in the company somewhere for which she could have posted? There has to be something more to this story.
That was a Port Orleans front desk costume she had on in the pictures. There clearly is more to the story because she mentioned a settlement. I am not a lawyer but if she took a settlement I feel she should keep her big fat mouth shut.
I also found it interesting that it was broadcast on Orlando's ABC affiliate. Usually they don't air the stories that shed the company in bad light.

Not required unless it's part of the settlement agreement. Some companies include a "no discussion/no disparagement" clause in their termination packages. Some courts have held that those are unenforceable.

Whether or not she was legally allowed to disclose the circumstances or not, she is a grown woman who chose to take a settlement. That was her choice and, to me, it sounds like she is regretting her decision and is now trying to fight it. And like someone mentioned maybe it was a lawyer she is in council with suggested she reach out to the news. Like that was said there seems to be more to the story then what Channel 9 is airing.

Orlandos ABC affiliate, WESH, doesn't do that much at Disney. I feel I see Fox35 going live like weekly from different spots at Disney.
