Seeing that Disney has done many different things with there company like the Cruise line, A Private Island, Timeshare clubs, Theme parks...Etc..Was there a time where there were talks about doing anything as a casino?

In my opinion...I wouldn't be sure how it would work trying to do what Circus Circus did..

To do a casino or to do a great casino they would have to build in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, Las Vegas has changed its image back to "Sin City". Awhile ago they attempted to be a family town, but that concept has changed. This change has limited Disney since they would be isolating the family, which is Disney's target market.
I just don't see it happening. The lack of a casino on the cruise ships goes to show that Disney is concerned with the family being together and with casinos (or rather laws/regulations) requiring no one under a certain age is allowed on the gaming floor, this would separate a family more often then just swapping out a child on a ride.

Husband: You hold on to the baby while I play Roulette.
Wife: Ok, then when you are done, you come back to the waiting area and take over so I can play slots.

I highly doubt this is something Disney would be interested in, in fact I can remember them saying that wouldn't do something like this... Not sure.

The Disney brand and gambling don't mix at all. It was something they had worried about with DCL, but no gaming on the ships has been such a positive in their studies that I don't believe you'll ever see Disney paired with gambling.

Not saying that they are planning on doing any "casino" related things, but disney does own property in tunica, ms. it is a pretty large casino area on the mississippi river. actually, you can use dvc points for one of the hotels that surrounds the casinos.

I'm pretty sure the closest thing we're going to get to gambling with Disney is gambling whether or not the WDW parades will get rained out :ROFLOL:

I think the financial backlash may be to costly to change directions like that. Besides, can't DVC already book in all those destinations like Vegas and Atlantic City? They just don't have a DVC resort.

I'm sure its come up every now and then in board meetings but I think the general thought is connecting characters like Mickey and Donald to Roulette and Craps really goes against the wholesome family style they are projecting. If Disney did anything casino orientated like an offshoot in DHS or something I'm sure you wouldn't win money and probably play with Tokens or something...

Not if it's done by the whole family... :lookaroun

We work in the casinos in Atlantic City, I will pray before bed tonight that Disney never ever considers such a move. Oh the stories we could tell you...
