Disney cartoons and Youtube

I gotta say, I love watching old Disney cartoons on Youtube (Though I do plan to buy the boxsets one day) and I gotta wonder a few things.
1. I saw one person leave a comment on a video saying that he and his kids made a night of just watching these cartoons on Youtube so I gotta wonder, anyone else here do that? 'Cause that sounds really cool
2. Does Disney know about this? I mean, they have official Youtube channels. I foundone for Disney parks and even a GERMAN channel advertising their German releases so I imagine they must and yet amoung all the names I hear about going around taking their stuff off of youtube, I've yet to hear Disney be one of them. So, is Disney taking this as a form of free advertising?

Yes, I will definitely spend an evening watching old Disney or Looney Tunes shorts on youtube. And I own the Looney Tunes box sets. I love youtube way too much.

I ended up spending about three hours watching the classic shorts a couple of nights ago.

Favourites (available on Youtube at least) are Runaway Brain and The Brave Engineer (one of my first influences in being a train buff, actually).

EDIT: After rewatching The Brave Engineer, I found a nice little Easter egg: on the clipboard the switchman is holding near the beginning can be found the name of "W. Kimball". :D

awesome! I wonder though. Is Disney going around removing their cartoons from Youtube? Or do they not really care?

Well I guess so. Some that I have had in my favourites have since been removed so at least some have gone for whatever reasons.

That won't stop someone else uploading them again though, lol.

Does the US Disney website show classic cartoons?? I keep seeing that advertised on Disney websites but alas can't get through to see them. And as the UK Disney website is mostly useless they are obviously not going to be there. (Hey, I can criticise because I know someone who works for the company who build some of the UK sites for Disney.)
