Ya we r actually saying here for the first time in November. We have a preferred room hopefully in Martinique! They are in the middle of renovating the rooms there as well!

The cbr is a big resort and depending where you stay you may have a far walk to the bus and food. We stayed for a week and enjoyed it very much, the small pool was quite most nights. We were lucky that the bus stop was a short walk, but the food was a much longer walk for us. Having said that, it was a nice walk everyday too.

By far my favorite resort. It is big but Is very easy to get around. It has a courtesy shuttle that can get you to port royale easily. Aruba is our preferred spot. Quiet pool, beach looks across to port and the access bridge is convenient. Very nice outdoor bar by pool and fantastic food and selection

We are CBR regulars. There is a small bar poolside that can get you something cool to drink. We really enjoy the resort, but we don't recommend or go to Shutter's, the resort table service restaraunt. Hop a bus and go find yourself a nice meal at another resort, park , or DTD.

I'd suggest finding a map of the resort to acquaint yourself of the layout before requesting a specific section. There are actually 7 bus stops (8, if there's one at Custom House, it's been quite a while since I've been there).

Bus routes loop through the resort stopping at each stop. Some buses start at Martinique and make the loop, others start at Jamaica and make the loop.

All Pirate themed rooms are in Trinidad South.
All Preferred rooms are in either Trinidad North or the three Martinique buildings closest to the food court.

The last time we stayed there, we were in Jamaica 45 which is directly across the lake from the food court and a short walk to the Jamaica bus stop.

You can dine in/ visit any other resort/ hotel. You will want to make sure you make an ADR. Only resorts that I would legitimately consider walking from one to another would be Pop to Art of Animation.

There are no other hotels that are walkable from the Caribbean Beach without either crossing major roadways (dangerous) or going through backstage areas (against the rules).

Easiest way to go to other hotels is as a side trip from a theme park, or get a taxi.

DD would be a relatively quick taxi ride, but there are free buses there from CBR.

Just to clarify, since you mention doing something in the evening, the bar in the hotel is an outdoor poolside bar. Not really a place you'd consider for nightlife.

Are you allowed to walk around the resort with an alcoholic drink in hand? Or do you have to stay at the pool bar to drink alcoholic beverages?

I don't think there's a problem. I've brought a drink from the bar over to the pool and back to my room, not a word from the bartender.

They probably put all drinks in plastic cups anyway, but if they serve it to you in a glass, you just have to ask them for a plastic cup to transfer it to. (No glass on pool deck, and I don't think they'd like people walking off with glassware)
