Disney California & Universal Studios

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help? I've been to Disneyland Paris and WDW several times, but now I really want to take a trip to California Disney, as well as Universal.

I was wondering:
a. which airport would you fly to
b. which hotels are good and close to the 2
c. how you go about getting from the hotels to the parks

OR... if anyone knows of any cheap ways of booking a full package online,

Personally I would fly into John Wayne (SNA) airport. It is closer to Disney than Universal. But there is LAX which can be cheaper than John Wayne. I would suggest getting a rental car if you want to do both attractions. They are pretty spread out and taxi would cost an arm and leg.

I like John Wayne the best because it is small and is the closest to DL. Depending on the hotel, you can usually walk to the DLR. Most of the hotels also have a trolly service that goes to and from the park and hotel.
