My husband and I are thinking about getting rid of our DVC membership. Does anyone know if Disney offers a buyback option?

Talk to the sponsor of this forum (The Timeshare Store) about selling your DVC contract. There is an active resales market and you'd make much more than having Disney buy it back.

I just sent an email to the DVC, we'll see. We bought in 06' and there's just never availability other than OKW and SS. We're financing and sometimes I think we'd be better not paying that monthly bill and just getting a hotel package through Disney for our trips.

Look, I'm sure people might write in with their comments on how THEY never get in where they want either, OR they never have a problem getting a different resort. I'm in the middle, having problems sometimes but not others, but will spare you the details.

I'd seriously suggest holding on to your points. First of all, the economy kinda stinks right now, so you might not get as much out of resale as you'd like. Second of all, a lot of people rent their points out, which you can do as well. I'm not suggesting holding on to your points as a money-making venture. But YOU can always rent someone else's points to get the resort YOU want, then rent YOUR points out to someone else. And why I recommend this brings me to my last point, Disney vacations, by and large, ain't gonna get any cheaper. OKW or SSR might not be your first choice(s), but as prices keep rising, you might be grateful to have a more affordable option to stay onsite even if it's not your first choice.

I talked with Disney and they do not offer a buyback. I spoke to the Timeshare Store and got some information. I think with us only owning for 2 years that we will hold onto the membership for now. Thanks.
