It is so great of you to send that letter... That CM really deserves a round of applause..and a bonus.. Thank you for sharing that awesome story..

"You see..That's why I spend my hard earned dollars at WDW every year!!" Where else in the world can you experience hospitality like that!
I always wish that I was super rich when stuff like this happens. I would have loved nothing more than to have said to Matt “You like the new Corvette? What color do you want?” However Matt definitely seemed like one of those people that give everything without any thought of reward.

It was last December 4th. We just arrived at Epcot on our first day of our trip. We went to guest services and got our AP's and the CM told us about the birthday pins. Well since my daughters birthday is November 30 (which is close enough) she gave her a pin. We first headed over to the land and out comes two Imagineers. They walk past us and one of them suddenly stops and says happy birthday to my daughter. Well he gets down on one knee and pulls off his pin lanyard and tells her to pick one and gives it to her.

This year we will be there for my birthday in August and my daughters in November. I hope to have plenty of stories to tell and kind letters to write.

Thank you all so much for the responses :) I love hearing about the magic Disney creates for their guests.

I've had two birthday's in Disney (My 10th and 13th birthdays) as well as my mother's this past October. I don't think they had the pins when I was there for my Birthdays, but my mom got them, and got some rather cool reactions from the cast members. We're planning on going back in January, which will be my 19th birthday. I can't wait to go :)

Breathing some lief into an old thread today.

I ran into Matt (cast member from post #5) yesterday at Epcot (1-29-6). Not only did he remember me and Riley but he thanked me profusely for sending the letter to guest services. So our letters do get to the right people and the cast members do get recognized for their exceptional service so on your next visit write down names and send e-mails and letters to guest services and let them know when a cast member is making Disney magic a reality.

Im so Glad

It great to hear so many people had such great birthday Experiances. I went to DLRP for my birthday last year, and would you belive not a single cast member wished me Happy Birthday.

When we check in and at Guest Services, they both looked at me as if i was odd (I.e. why is this strange Brit telling us it's his Birthday) Anyway i was a little up set coz i was really looking forward to my Birthday Badge and all. So after we finished our day in the Park (nice day but wish i went to WDW), and after much birthday drinking, We rang WDW-INFO (from My cell, in paris) to ask them what they do for Birthdays, after i told her it was my birthday and that no-one in Disney Paris wished me Happy Birthday, she said that was a shame, and got a few of her Colleges to sing Happy Birthday to me.

Thats what I love about WDW, even when your not there its still the Happiest Place.

Just so you know for future reference, DLRP DOES NOT celebrate guests birthdays, this was a managment decision.
