Disney Bahrain?

Interesting stuff. If not Bahrain...maybe Dubai. If they can produce the money I'm sure Disney could (will?) build them a park. How much of a financial risk would a park in the gulf be...it seems the gulf investors would take the brunt of any financial loss if the park was unsuccessful. What other factors would Disney look at?

Seems like financially, there would be no risk at all. With the wealth in the Gulf, it could be a huge profit-turner.

Then again, from a public relations, socio-cultural-religious standpoint, it seems like a billion dollar symbol of American values on the Arabian peninsula is a disaster waiting to happen.

...to say nothing of the further brand dilution which would result from the construction of yet another Disneyland Park in the world. Can you say Six Flags?

The park would cover 16 million square meters (19.1 million square yards), with work expected to start in May and take six years to complete, it said.
