Disney Annual Pass Questions

We don't live in the US so we won't be able to receive Magic Bands in the mail, where do we pick up our AP Magic Bands?

You may have problems like we did. If you have friends in Orlando then you can have them sent there, if not you have problems. Disney will only have them sent to Disney hotels if you're staying at those hotels. We have our own place over there but despite offering to collect them from a hotel on day 1, Disney said no. We didn't want them sending to our place because if they arrived before we did, they'd be sent away. Also the neighbours work so it was a bit of a hassle. When we rang after ordering our AP's we were incorrectly told we could collect them from Guest Services, on our 1st day we discovered we couldn't and received AP cards and were told we could purcase magic bands in the parks.

After the holiday we emailed Disney expressing our disappointment at all the messing around and wrong advice. They phoned me back at an a agreed day and time and offered us $50 so we could purchase magic bands on our next visit as we'd already paid for this when we originally purchased the AP's. The guy I spoke to basically said there were no workarounds for people in our position and offering 'compensation' afterwards was the only 'fix' at the time.

Just curious, What can a Magic band do for you if you're not staying on property?

No worries my friend. The magic band is used for free parking (if they bother scanning it, it's 50/50), entering the parks and for fast passes. The card they issued can be used for all those things too but it's a bit easier using the bands we found and no pockets are needed.
