Instead of the oceans which has been done extensively elsewhere what about rivers? Amazon, Nile, Yangtze, Congo etc.... Just a thought,
Actually, something dealing the rivers around the world would be excellent. The world Loses so much of the rainforest each year and it would fit into the DAK mission. Lots of cool animals and a very unique climate. Very well stated!!!!

Epcot already has a decent aquarium with The Seas. SeaWorld has the larger mammels (and you see the trouble people have with that) so I don't think they would add anything aquatic to Animal Kingdom.

Snakes & reptiles maybe. Or Austrailian wildlife.

Wouldnt that be a bit Jungle Cruise-ish

That is kind of like saying the oceans would be very Living Seas-ish or Seaworldy though. I don't think it would be like the jungle cruise at all though at least the way I am thinking of it. JC is campy, dated (delightfully) and tongue in cheek but I see the river's potential as being something more grown up along the lines of the rest of the theme and tone of AK. This is all hyperbole of course anyway...resources are allocated elsewhere at DHS and with Avatarland construction in full swing AK will not see any expansions now for a VERY loooong time IMO.

If DAK is allowed to expand more after AvatarLand, wouldn't it make sense for them to tackle our Oceans? It goes hand and hand with the parks mission on educated people on conservation and saving our planet from ourselves. This would round the park out nicely.
The hope and dream for the next step in the AK evolution is that once we have all these new things we finally get all the major refurb work that people have wanted for years.

The is a rumor that there was supposed to be another land added to DAK which dealt with "mythical" beasts. Think dragons, unicorns, centaurs, etc.

I think that would be *very* cool.

It's more than a rumor but the idea is pretty much dead now. Avatarland is basically the replacement for it. The mythical beasts are up the road at Universal thanks to its deal for HP.

You know what would actually be kinda cool and unique is if Disney did an "Oceans" experience actually in the ocean. It would be kind of unconventional. But, I think it makes sense. Many people take a day out of the parks and rent a car to go to the ocean. I'm picturing Disney doing something where if people were really interested in the Ocean experience or wildlife, they would encounter them in their natural habitat through a Disney-organized/controlled environment or activity. Sort of on the same lines as the Richard Petty driving experience (want to see what its like to be a real race car driver?), but you take the buses that are already going to the cruises, and put people on them for 1-day excursions out to Disney's Ocean experience. People could either just hang at the beach, or could pay for boats to take them out snorkeling, etc.

Oceans would absolutely make sense... But with the lackluster showing of Nemo and friends over at Epcot and all the backlash over Sea World, I'd think it's a hot potato right now.

This topic, and a bazillion, yes, a bazillion other ideas are always in the mix.

The end result, to be in a Disney park (AKA, Business) has to be practical and profitable.

It's called a drawing board until the investors give the green light.

Everyone's got an opinion, an idea, but do you have the cashola to make it real? Will people pay you to see your idea? Can you sustain your idea? :greedy:
