I can only go off rumblings but there's posts circulating on Twitter it's happened AND the Hulk and Namor rights are part of the deal. Of course it could be utterly rubbish.

I searched on twitter and it comes from a fan account that already mistakenly says Comcast owned 40% of Hulu. This post to be precise (in Spanish).

While I believe a deal is imminent it's better to not believe anything until it's official IMO.

I completely agree, but definitely something to be excited about as a Marvel fan if it happens.

Some site called MovieNews.Net (via Twitter) is reporting Comcast is considering a $4.5 Billion dollar offer from Disney.

Earlier this week one of the trades reported some of the companies chasing JJ, Disney wasn’t mentioned. Disney is normally super quiet about this stuff, so they could still be in it. Or they have decided that his output isn’t worth the deal he wanted.

I am assuming he wanted a level of green light authority, not just first look. Disney doesn’t play like that. Earlier I was thinking they would do anything for a creator like JJ. But looking the more I think about it. The more I think locking down someone like Favreau and Seth Macfarlane would be the higher priority.

There was a rumor that The Orville was internally renewed before the merger...but no announcement yet. I betcha 20CFTV is doing everything to ensure Seth’s show is going to be on FOX or Hulu. And the fact that it isn’t announced yet, makes me feel like Hulu is picking it up.

But only if Seth is signing up with Disney.

The basics of the deal are probably done but there are probably minor issues still being negotiated. Things like how long the contract is for the NBC Universal shows. I am looking forward to the details. Once it is done, Disney will take all their streaming services across the globe. Next up is the worldwide expansion of the Parks and Resorts and cruise line.

Well those will happen in parallel. DTC expansion will be happening organically over the next 5 years or so (including ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu if they get all of it). Cruise line fleet is expanding and will be almost doubling the fleet in the next 4 years. Parks already have a lot of expansion happening, including billion+ projects in Paris, Hong Kong, WDW, Tokyo, and Disneyland California. I wouldn't be surprised if they announce further expansions at the current parks and a 2nd park in DL Shanghai and/or a 2nd DLR in China within the next year or two. I still think it's early for a 3rd resort in the US or a ME, Brazil, and India resorts.

Christine McCarthy made it clear that they will be deleveraging and paying down debt, but still investing capital for the growth of the company. What's stopping for now is stock buy back and - presumably - higher dividends. Another M&A is probably further down the line once they get the house in order, so probably in 3-5 years or so to realistically think of any M&A talk.

I think this is just regurgitating what we know and using Hulu's valuation from the AT&T sale to estimate the value of what Comcast would be mulling over.

If Disney can get the deal done and get Hulu out of the US, then they can increase those predicted subscriber numbers. A lot of it will be bundling of it with Disney+ so launching at the same time must be a priority.

More Marvel characters back in house would also be welcome although I'm not craving a Hulk solo film

I feel like they missed their window for a Hulk movie. Prime time was 2013-2014 post-Avengers. But knowing hes back would be nice and getting Namor back in the fold is a must.

The well known film blogger Daniel Richtman, who is usually very good for scoops that even Jeremy Conrad recommends him, cryptically tweeted this Hulk gif. Perhaps he knows something.

Great news. But I was kinda hoping it would become a Hulu original.

Regarding the effort to Lock JJ Abrams into a long term contract, Iger, Kathleen Kennedy, Steven Spielberg and JJ were at Gallaxy’s Edge.... Its not like there isn’t some serious access there, and you gotta wish (for A lot of reasons) you were a fly on the wall as they rode the ride and saw the sites.... If they don’t get him, it won’t be because of a lack of trying.

True but Iger could never really get Spielberg into the fold either. But maybe he finally gets a good Spielberg movie in either West Side Story or Indy 5.

So true, I really hope Iger gets both of them to commit to what ever they want..... Still would have loved to be the fly on the wall today....
