Yea I remember reading how Hulk was going to be the villain of the 1st Avengers and the Avengers were tasked by Ross to bring him in thats why Tony seemed to be consulting with Ross about putting the team together. Also at one point they were going to bring in abomination. If you watch one of the marvel one-shot short films. I think it might have been a funny thing happened on the way to thors hammer they mention abomination being locked up in a shield facility and ross was requesting his release.

Yeah, I'm glad it didn't turn out that way due to Marvel firing Edward Norton from the Avengers. What do you think of my fan-casting about Norton as Igor Drenkov, Bruce Banner's old lab partner and Terrence Howard as Moses Magnum?

Actually, I think Mandy Moore would be a much better choice for the role because she and John Krasinski are so close to age. Just like how Reed Richards and Sue Storm are 6 years apart in the comics. Ross Lynch and Seth Rogen would do bang-up jobs as Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm respectively because I want the MCU Fantastic Four to be a Modern Family comedy sitcom movie similar to Iron Man 3, the Guardians of the Galaxy, MCU Spider-Man and Ant-Man movies and Thor: Ragnarok.

I remember that Fox also has the rights to the Percy Jackson films. I think it’s time that series needs a reboot.

Agreed. Ice Age, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Night at the Museum series are being developed. Since the Fox deal will be finalised next month, maybe they'll be on one of their platforms like Disney Plus.

It's not clear what rights exactly Universal has regarding the Sub-Mariner (Namor). For the Hulk, they only have distribution rights, not production. It's entirely possible that the same is true for Namor. Since there has never been a film for him to date, it is tough to say for sure but I doubt Universal has full rights to just make a movie on their own, else they probably would have done so in this superhero crazed industry.
The Marvel guys who have spoken on the issue have said it is "complicated". I wish Disney would just buy out those rights from Comcast. They aren't worth anything to Comcast if they can't make a movie themselves and if Disney would refuse to make a movie and not have distribution rights. If Disney/Marvel gives them something for those rights -- whether cold hard cash or maybe something like the rights to an acquired Fox property or something -- then it's one of those potential everyone is a winner situations.

No. Universal took care of all of that when they purchased Dreamworks.

yeah only the insiders know the real rights deals with the Hulk and Namor, however I believe they can use them as a cast member of a larger picture. There might be a limit of screen time to block use in a feature film. Perhaps staring in no more than 1/3 of run time. Namor has the mutant issue as well. Maybe he can only be used as a non mutant right now until the deal closes. Then there is the distribution deal.
The Fantastic Four really were the explorers of the Marvel universe. During the Kirby - Lee era we discovered the Skrulls, Watchers, Kree, the Silver Surfer and Galactus out in the cosmos. We also went to places like Latveria, Subterania, Atlantis, Waconda, Attillian, and the Negative Zone of the 616 universe. So many great places and characters that have laid dormant while endless terrible movies have been produced never getting further than the Galactus, origin, or Doom stories were told, and those were changed so badly hey have damaged the franchise.
I can only hope that they finally do this franchise justice and fix how badly Fox treated this property. There are so many great stories waiting to be told that Disney plus really is the best place to introduce this team to the Marvel movie universe.
I could easily breakdown 7-8 movies based on the first 104 issues of the Lee - Kirby run. Even at Harry Potters movie pace that would take 10-13 years to produce.
Disney should make sure that all actors contracts allow for the Silver screen, Disney Plus and the small screen going forward.

Yep, the distribution contract with Fox ran out about 6 months after Universal purchased Dreamworks.... I think Fox distributed one summer movie after the purchase.....

Disney will also obtain the film rights to the Dragon Ball franchise as a result of the Fox deal, and with the recent success of Super Broly I bet Disney wants to do more with the franchise like having a finally good live-action Dragon Ball movie so we can erase the memories of that God-Awful DragonBall Evolution movie.

False...Toho has the rights back. And animation rights reverted to Funimation.
. Apparently Fox have a 6 year window from 2015 to make a new Dragonball movie. Which means Disney would have a 2 year window to get a movie off the ground we dont know the exact details so maybe all they need is to have a writer working on a dragonball script to keep the rights who knows? or they just let it return to the original owner.
