On the 11th, Disney announced 5 new dates -

Nothing new today though.

That's what I'm saying. After the pre-sale sold out the Halloween date, a lot of folks were mad. Of course, it makes sense that they added dates to make more money but I wonder if guests' anger about not having pre-sale access to that date played any role.

I think they were gauging demand based on presales then the algorithm suggested more dates. 📲

During the pre-pandemic party time, Halloween was always the first night to sell out. That also made people who were locked out angry.

Nothing can be done about a park that is too popular and more people want to experience than it can handle. Once it's full, it's full.

And "adding capacity" just means it still gets full, just with more people, and still others are locked out.

The other parks have capacity to spare and they need to be beefed up to take the pressure off of MK.

DAK needs a new land w/E Ticket that can be open at night with Pandora, Dinoland and Everest. Asap. IMO.

Disney is all too happy to see it's Halloween customers all start paying 50% more for an event that is alot less expensive and less intrusive to run. I bet you see Disney keep adding dates as long as they see demand.

This has to be a dream for Disney...
I was actually surprised at the lack of dates when it was first announced. But this event is much easier to just add days on as it doesn't intrude on day guests.

So now we have fireworks returning July 1, will be interesting to see what happens at Boo Bash. 'Happily Ever After' or something else?

The timing will be interesting.
In the past, for the summer, they would typically do 9pm fireworks, park close at 10pm, with DAH starting at 10pm.
9pm fireworks with a 9:30 close / BB start time, doesn't give as much time for the regular guests to clear out. (Yes, I expect closing time to be extended to 9:30pm, though it is conceivable that they keep the 9pm official close and run HEA after rides shut down to day guests. Such a strategy would invite guests to watch fireworks and then they would have nothing to do but filter out of the park afterwards).

This is my hope. Also current park hours end at 9pm, and they'd have to extend them to close at 9:30. To do that after selling tickets for an upcharge event would be bad form. I believe @MansionButler84 hinted that the 9pm fireworks show would help clear out people before the party starts, so I inferred that to mean the parks would still close at 9 through early Sept. and then maybe 8:30 HEA/close after that. I may have that sideways though after so many pages of information. Doesn't look like they've updated the events calendar yet to show which times.

almost as if it were all planned... ;)

It would be incredibly disruptive for Disney to remove dates, and the idea of less dates helps build the FOMO and drive front-loaded ticket sales. So it's much better for them to add, then to over-saturate and have to retreat or run unproductive events.

Creating artificial scarcity is a great technique to push price changes through to the market.

The event starts at 9:30 in August. No ticket buyer should go in with an expectation of the park being closed any earlier than that.
For September/October dates, HEA will be moved up to 8:30ish and close will remain at 9.

Certainly possible they keep close time at 9.

I wonder if they plan to run HEA and EF at the same time: Both at 9pm. That would exacerbate bus issues, with massive exodus from the 2 biggest parks right at 9:15-9:30. Maybe EF won't run until 10pm... (though right now, Epcot is listed as 9pm close from Mid-July onward).

What do we think the events will do regarding day capacity? I feel like for the MNSSHP it seemed to be people would avoid MK the party days b/c of the early closure, but since these should have no bearing on that, do we think people will still avoid or flock to? Once the rest of the family's APs come up for renewal, we'll be making some park reservations...

I now have nothing to do on the night of 10/5. Maybe a less expensive day ticket at Uni? For the same price, a one park per day, two-park two-day FL Resident ticket is $179.99.
