Disney 6 day Itinerary

Hello all. I love planning and have been working on this for a bit. Some of you know that I am taking my daughter to her first Disney visit for her 10th birthday, and it's a complete surprise. Her birthday is in April but my plan is to make a birthday card and put this itinerary in the card as well as give her a boxed gift with Minnie Mouse Disney Ears with a note attached saying "On May 5th you're going to need these!".

Needless to say our trip is May 5th - 11th.

I created an itinerary with a template that I found on the internet but made some slight modifications. I'm posting it here because I'd like you guys to look at the details of it, and critique it. I've made all the dining reservations already (which obviously can be changed still), but if you see something that I could change as far as the EMH and/or FP+ selections, it would be great to get more advice from you guys.

My idea was to do Fantasmic at HS the first night to give her a taste of Disney since it's an amazing show, and then the last night we finish up with MK so she'll remember that the most.

Anyways, here is the itinerary. The more I look at it, the more I think it's cluttered. Also, I'm not asking anyone to plan my own vacation for me, this is just as more of a "any tips are welcome!" kind of thing. :)

The itinerary card looks beautiful and your plans have a nice, easy pace and a thoughtful, intuitive flow" to them. She'll be so thrilled!

My only suggestion would be: unless your daughter is really good with late nights and early mornings, consider saving "Wishes" until your last night, instead of doing it on Day 2.

I was thinking about that as well.

I'm also still kind of on the fence about splitting up my days between two parks. I want to be able to get the most out of the parks but I figured that visiting two parks a day with a small break in between would be the best. But again I don't know how she'll be. She may be so excited every day that she will be a machine and not get tired at all or she may get wiped out at day 3 lol. :)

I was toying around with the idea of spending full day of Epcot at Day 2, a full day of MK at Day 3, then a break on Day 4, with doing a split on day 5 and 6 with still getting more Epcot and MK time. But I'm not sure.

I think it looks great!!!! Of your kid is super energetic (mine are) then the schedule is fine but if she is a sleeper you may need to modify.

Also stay flexible while you are there. If she has to sleep in go with it and everyone will be happier! It shouldn't be too crowded then so I think you will be able to get plenty done!

Have a wonderful time!

Once your in the park it may be hard to get your daughter to leave. Even tho its to go to another park. You tend to want to keep going to hit everything and its amazing how fast time goes. For me, I just like to spend the day where Im at. I never feel like breaking it up. I know there are just as many that like to hop too. Its just whatever you feel like doing at the time. I can make plans and about half of it is followed and half goes out the window. And that is ok too. Think of your plans as just a guide. It looks like your really good at this. Im impressed.

Thank you! Yea I figured that all this planning may come down to us just doing our own thing when we actually get there. LOL.

That is amazing. You are such a sweet father to go to so much trouble. I would love to get an itinerary like that for a surprise trip.

You have picked some great restaurants. Don't forget to have pictures taken together of the two of you together. These will be priceless memories when she is older.

if Wishes is a can not be missed, I would not have on last night as it could end up rained out and not be able to do another night. have 2 grandsons that would give up most things but not fireworks. for that reason, yes we do one on our last night if possible but not the only time planned

This is a very well thought out itinerary, and it sounds great! So long as you have an energetic child, you will have a blast! The only suggestion that came to mind was perhaps to plan your Rose & Crown Pub meal as a dinner if you can get a later ADR so you can watch IllumiNations with a great view from the restaurant without having to stake out a viewing location in advance.

You better ride Soaring..I see no FP+ for Soaring, you can't miss Soaring, honest it's a must, you are flying over California. Maybe I am a sucker but all my kids were born in California and and Soaring is, well I start grinning like a goof as soon as I buckle up, kick my legs forward like I am on a real swing and here I go....
