There's a news article that Disney has stopped a new film a stop-motion animation due to advertising revenue did not rebound after the Olympics.

I wonder what the total cost of the movie was. If I was already in 50 million I would think I would see it through.

Sometimes it is better to cut bait and run. A $50 million dollar loss is better than a $100 million one.

Very true, but can you imagine making that decision?

No. I have been agonizing over having to get a new $250 A/V receiver for months because the one I got a few months earlier did not have a 3D pass through. I could not fathom witting off $50 million

Just to clarify, the 2 events are not related except that they will affect TWDC's bottom line. The article's first topic is poor post Olympics advertising revenue. The article's second topic is a $50 million write-off of a stop-motion movie that was in the works.

It's easier to cut and run on something the previous regime started. I believe this unnamed project was greenlit before the recent shake-up at the studios.
