ESPN was part of Media Networks prior to DMED. ESPN+ has never been on the "ESPN" side of the fence, it's always been with the streaming business. Giving Jimmy ESPN+ is new.

Iger is a supporter of Pitaro and ESPN, and it brings in far too much money for Disney to just cut away.
For the whole company, they only made $1.3B for the quarter.

Certainly sounded like an attempt to prepare investors for possible soft D+ numbers for the next year. God forbid they ever outprice the theme park market.
