Sounds cool! Hopefully, a list of resorts will be released soon so I'll know if I can test it out in January/February.

It's most likely all of the usual Disney resorts. They like to use the term "select Disney resorts", which means everything on-property except Shades of Green, Swan, Dolphin and the Hotel Plaza Blvd hotels.

I like talking to the CM while I check in too. I think the new system sounds cool and will try it when the lines are really long. But if there is a short line I like to stand there and take in the atmosphere and let it soak in that I'm in disney!

So, if the lines are long, will you go offsite to a Starbucks or Panera and check in online and drive back to use WiFi? If you have phone internet, will you just wait until the next time somebody runs the online check in list again?

It may be too little to late to wait til you find out there is a long line.

I think that this may be to help out with some of the more complicated check ins. I have had problems in the past at check in. We traveled with extended family and wanted rooms close by each other, our reservations were not linked for some crazy reason and we were on opposite sides of the resort. Another time, again traveling with extended family, we needed to be close to the food court because of someone in the party having diabetes. Again, on the opposite side of the resort. It took time to rearrange the reservations once we were there. If we had on line check in, I could have taken care of these issues 10 days before arriving and had a much better start to our vacation.

Yeah, I think this is a great idea as well.

Last December I stayed at Pop Century with my fairly large family, divided up between 4 different rooms. My mom is unable to stand for long periods of time, so she had to sit and wait somewhere else while other family members stood in the very long line with their credit cards, and the process of entering all the information took a while, especially once the key cards were printed incorrectly and had to be redone. Entering the information ourselves at home would have streamlined the process tremendously for us and been easier on her. :)

We still had a fabulous vacation of course.

So in theory I could check in when I arrive at the airport and by the time I get to the resort after getting baggage and riding Magical Express, my room would already be ready to just head in and relax? Sound great to me!
