Do you think The Walt Disney Company will end up in a dire financial situation or not once the old Reedy Creek Improvement District is disbanded and replaced by the new, Florida government-controlled version that is the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District?

Not directly as a result no. Wouldn't make sense if they did... Now they may have problems with permits, and they might have problems with a few other things, but I don't think that RCID's replacement is going to cause financial problem. It will be what the oversight board does that causes them financial problems.

Yeah the only problem I can see is De Santis making RED TAPE by the Truckload to stall Disney on permits in payback. If anything it will only impact Disney's ability to expand and grow. Disney cant just take there ball and leave Florida.

Nope won’t end up with any major financial situation at all. Short of being closer to how things work in Anaheim this will have very little impact.

It’s not the end of the world situation as some may have you believe.

The bill was signed into law yesterday. The Reedy Creek Improvement District has officially changed its name. There are new board members. And a few powers that the district doesn't use are no longer available for the district to use.

I think that in the long run, there won't be much of a difference between the RCID and the RCID with a newer, stupider name. In a years time, other than some signage changes and maybe a few non-issues used by the governor to sound successful to people who don't really know what the district does, I am 80% sure that the concensus is that the change is a non-event.

In a years time after all the political theater hoopla dies down this won't even be remembered outside of Disney Fan Sites like this one.
