We all point with two fingers. We remind people that you can enter both Frontierland and Adventureland after leaving the bathroom. We meet someone nice and say use the single riders lane.

We are an open book of various Disney info. It's not even funny. Because we love Disney and the only thing we love more than that is helping people at Disney, I was wondering, has anybody confused you for a CM?

I have a DL. I was at the Grand Californian hotel. It was around 9:20 and I was ready to run towards to Soarin. So some lady comes up to me and asks if I could check her purse. The fact that I was looking forward onto the people behind me, the fact I was waring a red polo shirt, something lots of CM's a DL wore while we were there, or that I was at the table. I said I wasn't a CM. She was embarased, but then we rode Soarin and that made up for that mistake.

Anyone else got stories?

Note: Yes Rob and MKT, we know your CM's...

Once I was at a local department store called Anne and Hope with a friend near the key making machine. An elderly lady asked if I could make her a key. I asked to her to wait just a minute and ran off and found an actual employee of the store lol. I'm so nice. :D

And once at Toys R Us a little kid asked me where the dirt bikes were lol. I had on an orange shirt...I suppose I could look like an employee...I told him I didnt work there but helped him anyways...I know Toys R Us inside and out lol.

DO those stories count? lol

Pssst... me toooooo!! LOL

Actually... we get just the opposite... I can't tell you how many people come up to me (while in FULL costume) and ask, "Excuse me... Do you work here?"

I want to respond with, "No... I just sit around all day while they pay me" or "No, I just wear purple pants and a tacky white/green/yellow/purple shirt because it looks sexy."

Oh my god me too!!!! I work at a supermarket and the shirt i wear is green, with the name of the store right on the sleeve. We also have to wear nametags. Not a day goes by where somebody doesn't ask me if i work there and i really want to say the same thing as you!! I just bite my tongue and say yes, though, lol

I swear I can't walk into a Target without being mistaken for an employee. I must have the "Target look." Strangely enough most of the time I'm not even wearing anything similar to the dress code of Target. Go figure!

At WDW I get a lot of picture requests. I guess I am a approachable person plus I am pretty good with the camera.

Point, focus, click!

We were in the Grand Floridian, just about to go for our meal on our Wedding Day and a little boy said to his dad "is that Cinderella?" It was so cool to be mistaken for a Disney Princess on my wedding day :D :D

Yup; Country Bear Jamboree.

I usually like to spend a few hours just in the queue area (strange, ain't it? I'm in pure bliss there...a feeling like no other).

I usually wear my CBJ shirt and buttons...so guests usually come up to me for some questions on "how much time left?" (that's usually the most important). 17 minutes...10 minutes...8 minutes...it's quite fun.

The CMs have actually allowed me to perform some shows...and even sweep the floor with "Pecos", the sweeper. I *hope* to join the wonderful cast there in about a year or two, hopefully. *crosses claws*

Twice.

Once in the gift shop at the Gateway area in Epcot. I was wearing a San Diego Zoo t-shirt that had a zoo logo that was oval and looked similar to the CM name tags. A small boy asked me how much a toy was so I went and helped him out.

Second time was in Epcot too. I was wearing my Guest of Honor badge and an American lad, a bit worse the wear for alcohol, stopped me and asked where he could get a turkey leg. You could see the turkey leg cart from where we were standing but he obviously was suffering with his vision. We had a long, pleasant conversation about there was no way I could not be German  and how he was going to study in Germany the following year, and then I sent him off in the direction of his turkey leg. To this day I'm sure he still believes I was a genuine CM even though I tried to explain I wasn't. :brick: :)

That is SO sweet!!!

Usually people think I'm a CM after they talk to me for a while in line because I know so many facts about WDW and history etc.

I get that all the time. I dunno, just because I'm usually wearing a Disney polo shirt, look like I know what I'm doing, and can just about always answer any question that they might have, people think that I work there. (I wish!) When my wife and I got interviewed by our local radio station during the WDW25 festivities, their "handler" told us that we should work there. We told her the general vicinity of our salaries, and she said, "oh, I guess you'll just visit here a lot, huh?" LOL

In August while I was waiting to meet people over near the tip board in the MK I was mistaken by many as a CM. I had my guest of Honor badge on, which people mistook for a CM badge. They started asking me questions about the events at the and other things around the park. It was a lot of fun. The Ambassador at the board even needed my help on a couple of questions. It was great to be part of the Magic for a little while.

I was on the Keys to the Kingdom tour once and, with our tour guide standing directly next to me, a couple came up to me and asked where the Haunted Mansion is. I told them where it is, and then said I wasn't a CM. They blushed, and then to top it off realized there was a CM standing right next to me. Go figure :)

BUMP!

Last Feb. I was with two friends in tomorrowland at MK. They went on Space Mnt. while I waited near the fast pass machines. After waiting for a while this lady came up behind me and asked how FP worked. I turned around and she says 'You dont work here do you?' I said no and then she walked away embarrased. Im not sure why she thought I worked there. I was only 14 years old and wearing a plaid shirt(which doesnt fit the TL theme) It made me fell special though!!!

I wouldn´t be that flattered if I were mistaken by a cast member.... that would only mean that I am wearing something really tacky! :animwink:

Gee Thanks Maria!

You mean the spandex pants with the sequined top isn't in fashion?
:hurl:

I usually will start talking with people and they just assume that i work there. I need to stop trying to be helpful, I guess.
