Discounts at Grand Floridian Spa

When are you planning to go to the GF? The discount codes that come out for all resorts apply to the GF too; IMHO the best place to find these is mousesavers.com.

For AP discounts a code has to be released, so that depends on when you're going. For AAA discounts, as long as you're not going on a holiday, there is usually a decent discount; however the codes are usually much better than this.

I've never seen any discounts for services the GF spa. Quite frankly, I've been there twice for facials over the years and won't go again. While the service itself was fine, the spa itself lacked both space and atmosphere. The ladies waiting room feels cramped and dim, the furniture in there is nothing special and basically, the whole place feels like it needs a remodel. My local spa at home is better appointed and significantly less expensive for the exact same services. Now I don't mind paying Disney prices when I'm in WDW -- but I do expect to get something exceptional for my money, especially for a spa at WDW's flagship hotel. Not so here. The GF spa experience is underwhelming, especially for the money. Probably more commentary than you wanted on the subject, but just my two cents anyway.

Good to know...I've often thought about booking a service there but we never have. It's too bad that it's not up to par with other hotels/resorts in the same price range. I hope they upgrade it soon!

What about at the Swan? I have seen the outside the spa, and it looks amazing

I have heard great things about the spa at the Swan. I was planning on trying it this past trip -- but alas, we got sick and I never made the appointment. If anyone has been there, I'd love to hear a review!

I've been to the GF Spa twice and love it. If you have an AP, you get a discount. I can't remember how much it is, but I keep thinking 10%. Make sure to bring your AP with you!

Annual Passholders get 10% off spa treatments at both GF AND SSR. But apparently, ONLY the passholder gets the discount, so any friends you bring in with you will not get the discount for the same treatments.

I agree, and I don't think I'd go again, however, after 5 days in the parks with 4 kids, a massage is hard to turn down.

AP holders do get a 10% discount on select services and packages. It isn't (or at least wasn't) a blanket 10% discount.

My wife would echo your sentiments about the GF Spa. She's done individual services before and been very happy but on our last trip in Spring '06, she booked a whole package and was really disappointed. The treatments were all fine but they were poorly timed and she spent a lot of time waiting in the waiting room. Even had her spa lunch out in the check-in area just hanging out in her robe. She says it didn't feel very special or very relaxing compared to other spas at home.

So on our next long trip, she's going to look into the spa at Saratoga Springs. It's a little harder to get to if you're using disney transportation but its newer and larger. It is managed by the same group that manages the GF spa so who knows. She's looked into the new spa at the Swan and Dolphin but the services were quite a bit more expensive.
