Disappointment at Contempo Cafe

For sure they should have made the order right, no argument there. Unfortunately this kind of stuff happens too often that I don't even bother to send stuff back but just eat around what I didn't want. This is where my logic was coming from. I have worked in a restaurant where the tomato soup had chicken stock in it and people would come in and say they were vegetarian and wanted to know if the soup was. We would say that it had stock and at least 70% of people who said that was ok and still ate the soup because they could not see the meat. I didn't mean any offense by suggesting that someone push the meat ball off, just from my experience I think most people would have done that.

Barbara Eden+? Bring it!!
We were there Dec 3-12. We didn't enjoy it as much as we have in the past. In 2009 I grabbed a couple of burgers that were really good on the way to the room after a late return. By 2013 it was a typical overcooked slab of ground beef tossed onto a bun. In 2013 we really enjoyed the Caprese Flatbread for a snack. In 2015, the quality wasn't nearly the same as we remembered it. The flavors didn't blend, it was incredibly soggy coming out of the kitchen, etc. The loss of the kiosks wouldn't have been a deal killer, but it did nothing to speed our service along. Instead of waiting for someone to figure out the kiosk, we waited for families to decide what to order at the register.

We'll still get an order of potato chips to snack on before bed, or during a break in the middle of the day but that's about it unless there are reported improvements.

We've always loved Contempo Café in the CR because it was casual and self-serve, the food was decent for the price, and what's not to love about being able to watch the monorail go through the CR's concourse as you eat your meal!

However, this past weekend was very disappointing and I don't know if we'll ever go back...

I always liked Contempo Cafe as well (it was my fav QS) ... until my last visit. It seemed like the menu was missing a handful of items that were there in the past. And the food wasn't as good. I will give it one more try next trip.

I had some sort of a Mediterranean Salad there in September. It was supposed to have things like crispy tofu, chickpeas, olives, etc. Could they spare it? Apparently not. There was so much watery, crappy iceberg lettuce and very little in the way of chickpeas and tofu. It's tofu and chickpeas, not kobe beef. It was just over $10 for that. For that amount of money, I would expect some baby spinach in the salad, too.

Add us to the "disappointed" list. We were there in early November this year. The new ordering scheme (i.e. no kiosks) was not as efficient, IMO, and the menu choices seemed to be more limited than what we remembered. We ordered grilled chicken sandwich, but received fish. The ticket was right, so there was a disconnect in the kitchen. They fixed the problem fairly promptly and gave us extra fries. No complaints about food quality for us, but it wasn't the typical Disney QS food experience that we've had in the past.
