Disappointed in Operations Manager

Is that like "other duties as assigned". That's another good one big corporate uses to cover their :zipit:

Yeah, it is a way to "CYA" (you can figure it out) but you know what? It works. If Disney wants to close down Space Mountain in the middle of Christmas Day, they can-because it is "Subject to Change Without Notice." That pretty much covers any explanation they owe anyone.

And as far as payroll goes-I remember when I worked for Disney, the overtime rules were more than fair. Not only anything over 40 hours a week, but anything over 8 hours a day was OT. And they encouraged extra shifts whenever you could pick them up. At $6 an hour, a little OT doesn't kill them-nor does keeping people on for their scheduled shifts, even if the attraction is down because no one knows when it will come back up. I don't know what happened that day, and I am not claiming to-but it probably wasn't a payroll conspiracy, nor the decision of one Ops Manager. I walk by CoP lots of times and it's closed at 6pm for Seasonal Operation-again, changing without notice-and yes, I'm disappointed, but I certainly don't assume it's because they sent everyone home early to save some $$.
Bummer. It was closed. Try again.

Wow! Nobody even guessed that there might have been a maintenance item? For years I helped design and build new equipment, and , despite how precise you do the calculations, some pieces will break under the strain. You then need to analyze why the piece broke ( bad design or bad material) and develop a countermeasure. Also, there could have been more unexpected problems caused by the rain. Wonder why brakes don't work so good when they're wet? Hmmmm. Do you suppose cold water on hot metal could cause cracking? The longer equipment runs and the more you discover flaws, eventually, you will have a reliable machine, but not until you work through all the issues. Oops. Sorry. Just an engineer's veiwpoint.

A CM's blog that I read said that EE was struck by lightening. The same blog had a picture of the Tree of Life being struck by lightening that day.

Make of that what you will...
