Here is what I would do.
  • Complete revamp of Dinosaur. Basically it would restore all effects, change the name back to Countdown To Extinction, and queu enhancements.
  • Remove the Cretaceous Trail for a Dinosaur/river safari.
  • Keep the cool gift shop with all the dino props.
  • Primeval Whirl would become the Excavator, a Big Thunder like ride through a dig site.
Anybody else have ideas that could be added? Feel free to share them.

I agree with you on the first point, wouldn't change any of that.
I think I would take out primeval whirl and the fossil fun games and relocate the triceratop spin and put in the excavator idea. Gives alot of room to theme the whole area, plus I really don't like the fossil fun games. I don't see how carnial games make sense with the area.
I would also gut the finding nemo building and make a dark ride that goes from the big bang to dinosaurs, to early humans, and then humans uncovering dinosaurs today. Kinda like the universe of energy ride, but more focused on the science end of it and not the energy side. Either that or buy the rights to land before time and make that the musical instead.
I would also take out Restaurantosaurus and replace it with a local favorite, Dinosaur BBQ, which would fit well with the theme as well. Would just have to move the burgers to the flame grille bbq and rename that to flame grilled.. or something to that nature.

I would toss all of the Toy Story Rex merchandise from the Dinosaur gift shop back to Hollywood Studios and make Aladar relevant again. I don't know, after riding Dinosaur twice yesterday, having seen a whole section of Rex merch pop out of the gift shop kind of annoyed me. Was actually looking forward to Aladar merch... but there was none.

What's up with everyone wanting the name changed? I prefer Dinosaur :) I would like to see all the effects return though.

The Cretaceous trail has a very small footprint, no way you could fit a river ride there (maybe a river ride queue).

If you put the excavator in the middle of Chester and Hester's it won't really do anything but confuse guests with the story even more.

While I like the name Dinosaur...it is boring. Just combine the two! ;)

But besides that I think you need to take chester and Hester carnival out and theme the area to a Dig site and research area for Dinosaurs and Dinosaur fossils. Turn the Primeval Whirl into a themed Dig Site ride ...maybe called the Excavator. Make a ride through prehistoric caves to encounter some prehistoric sea creatures. Take finding nemo to DHS in Pixar Place, I mean it feels like broadway and would fit in perfect in the area. then make that a "walking with Dinosaurs" type show. Add a small exhibit/interactive museum going through the different periods of the Dinosaurs and there you have it! totally re-imagined Dinoland and its makes sense!

I think I should explain more. First Everything that is with Chester and Hesters except for the gift shop would be gone. The boneyard would also be gone. Instead that half of Dinoland would become a dig site. The Excavator would take up a lot of the space. Finding Nemo would be moved wherever.

@WED99 Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking as well but it looks like there could be space in between the back of Dinosaurs show building and Primeval Whirl.

Removing Chester and Hester's wouldn't really affect me in any way, but I'm just think where would the kids go? There is little attractions for them in AK, wasn't that the reason they built Chester and Hester's in the first place?

I wouldn't move Nemo. It fits in DHS well but that 40 minutes really kills some time in AK.

But so would the Dinosaur show...Nemo just feels out of place still.

Well yeh I guess, but I think there could be something better than Walking with the Dinosaurs. Seeing huge scale robotics is less of a novelty after riding Dinosaur.

They couldn't be bigger than the original show, not enough room. I just think there are better replacements.

I just meant bigger then the ones in Dinosaur. I disagree with a better replacement but I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one! Its just such an awkward location for the building

I'd actually changed the section name and focus from Dinoland USA to "North America" with a "Dinoland USA subsection" similar to how Anadapour and Serka Zong are two different subsections of the Asia themed land.

Dinosaur, Restaurantosaurus, and the main gift shop could stay, but Chester and Hesters would be removed for a theme similar to the Grizzly Peak area of Disney's California Adventure. The North American section wouldn't solely be based on Dinosaurs, which do have a rich past in North America, but can also feature many other North American animals and themes with the area capturing the spirit of Yellowstone and Yosimite National Parks and the 2-lane highway America associated with it. The Finding Nemo theater would be either moved or removed to make way for additional attractions and animal trail space.

Eventually, Animal Kingdom will represent all the continents and all the diverse animals from each part of the world. We already have Africa and Asia. Dinoland transforming into North America would work out great. South America would be a no brainer with all the stories, animal, culture, and food associated with it, and finally an European area would allow for some interesting themes including some mythical realms featuring medieval dragons, Greek & Roman gods, as well as the animals found in Europe. Finally Disney can give Sea World a run for their money with an Arctic themed environment and an land dedicated to the land down under, Australia.

In my vision of Dinoland there would be a boat ride. This would be like the Jungle Cruise but without the skippers. The queu would be indoors at the Dino Institutes research lab for dinos. You are sent back in time in a to study dinosaurs. The dinos would be doing various gags throughout the journey. As the end a meteor falls forcing the riders to travel forward in time back to the institutes lab.

i would give primevalwhirl to fun spot or DCA (cause i like it but its an out of the box coaster and cant go to any other park) and theme the entire area to dinosaurs add a ride similar to dinosaur ,in design not story, but make the ride fun and not scary cause ive always loved dinosaurs but i hate getting scared and add a meet and greet with giant moving dinosaurs
