we are going in late sept to oct. & using the dinning plan. i know this time of the year is pretty slow. so far we only have one reservation booked. i hesitate to make anymore because i just don't know the parks we will be in each day. should i really worry about places being booked up at that time of the year?

   18 is too old for Character meals????     I hope I read that wrong cause nobody's too old for a character meal. I'm in my late twenties and my mom is in her late fifties and we love eating at Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Tavern specifically because of characters.

HE says he's too old - but us parents (54 & 55) love them. Although, now that I think about it - he really likes the O'hana breakfast with Lilo & Stitch, Mickey, Goofy & Pluto, so I guess he's just trying to ACT like he's too old to make us think he really doesn't enjoy being a kid as much as he does! (Does that make sense???):veryconfu

Also - we love O'hana for dinner too - it's great!

We booked the Free Dining as soon as it came out earlier this year and got almost all our ADR's we wanted, but just a couple of weeks ago we tried changing some things around and we could not get lunch or dinner reservations. It sounds like everything is booked up. Also, I have seen offers from Disney about using TS at CS locations and receiving benefits (such as pin/lanyard, additional snack coupons, etc). So Disney is trying to alleviate some of these Dining pressures! They have even added additional Buffet dining locations like at the Noodle Station for September.

Crazy as it may seem, I am still excited about getting back to the World!:sohappy:

3 tips for avioding crowds.

If you are looking for MK or MK resorts for reservations, avoid MNSSHP days. These days are booked solid for Sept/Oct.

Epcot Resevations are VERY busy during F&W. Be warned.

EMH reservations are also EXTRA HARD to get. Most guests figure they can take their time and eat if there is an extra 3 hrs in the park.

I think I should start making everyone's ADRs! I seem to be having really good luck. I called yesterday and got Le Cellier for this October w/no problems!

Like I said before, I'm sure some of it has to do with the fact that we have a small group, but still...

Yes, you should worry...because anyone checking in through September 30th will have the dining plan through their length of stay... We are there the 29th of Sept through Oct. 7th and have had a lot of trouble getting reservations at the times and places we wanted... several places we couldn't get into at all...and that was several months ago...and I've been checking back periodically ever since....

I think making ADRs after the free dining promotion is over won't be as big of a deal.

I called to check on mine last night. The CM noted that I have Le Cellier and said, "You must have made that a long time ago." As it turns out, I made that ADR for Le Cellier on May 15 and still didn't get the time I wanted (I would have liked earlier than 8:20). Since then I have tried to change it with no luck.

I really do feel sorry for people on free dining who don't have ADRs, especially for the popular places. They will be VERY disappointed.

I personally think this sucks! You cannot get in anywhere any more. We tried for a week for LIberty Tree and finally had to lie to get in. A trick wewere told by the folks making the ADR. Needless to say even if you have DDE it never guarantess anythin and that is worse if you ask me.

I think the problem is that they changed how far in advance you can call for reservations. It used to be 90 days in advance, so for my upcoming trip, I called exactly 90 days before departure. Then the CM told me that I could have called 180 days in advance. Luckily, I got seating times for every place we wanted to eat, but it made me wonder how full some of those restaurants are because of that change.

P.S. Does anyone know when the 90 days changed to 180? I'm pretty sure it was 90 days last year.

If I remember correctly, the 180 days started when it changed from Priority Seating to Advance Dining Reservations that began with the Happiest Celebration on Earth. I think?!?!?!
