After a long day at Disney's Animal Kingdom, me and my party are planning on either dining at Epcot's World Showcase or one of the resorts for dinner. We are not looking for characters and we aren't interested in a big upscale eatery. Any ideas? :king:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE going to Boma's after a day at Animal Kingdom. No characters...but EXCELLENT food!

I definitely would suggest Boma also - heaven knows we eat there at least once on every trip. Since you're going to be at the Animal Kingdom anyway, it is only a short jaunt to the Lodge and continue with the Animal Kingdom theme through the evening.

Boma's is a good idea if you want to keep the AK theme.

But I would recommend one of the Boardwalk's restaurants. From the ultimate sports bar to delicious seafood or mediterranean fare to hearty steaks and ale, the Boardwalk has it all. If you're still looking for a good time, head on over and catch the dueling pianos. Great times had by all.

I agree with the others, BOMA! It is my fav. of all the buffetts and sit-downs too actually. I'm a picky-eater and I still love it! Since you'll be at AK it'd be a nice short bus ride too. We usually don't eat more than quick service, but when we can afford it we hit Boma. If you aren't wanting Boma I would say maybe O'hana's if you want a resort, at Epcot my fav. is the UK

Hi!
You could always go to the Rainforest Cafe situated at the exit of AK if you dont want to go back to your accomodation and out again,
We often do this and we love the Rainforest cafe!!!

I would recommend reading all the horrible reviews on here on that Rainforest Cafe first before going there. I have been there twice, and would not go back there.... ever! And I can't think of another place in WDW that I would say that.

I agree. Boma's os a great place to eat. Great food, service and atmosphere. You are seated by a waiter, but I wouldn't classify it as too up-scale. It's a lot of fun.

As everyone said, Boma! It's great to end your evening at Boma after going to the Animal Kingdom. Food and atmosphere are great and you can check out the beautiful Animal Kingdom Lodge.

And its number 7 out of 605 restaurants in Orlando based on popularity! (According to trip advisor)

Another vote for Boma.

Depending on opening times, you can even head over to Epcot after Boma (if you are not too full to move) and catch Illuminations to round off the day.

and another vote for Boma. A lot to eat and great resort.

if you are up for a higher class meal...the oak plank filet with mac and chz cover in a red wine reduction...jiko is the best meal that I have had at the world.

Thanks for your help. We are already going to Boma after our first day at AK, but I think for my 2nd day we are going to go to Whispering Canyon afterwards. :king:

Well, Whispering Canyon is certainly going to give you contrast to the relaxing calm of Boma ;)

Hooray for variety :D

Our August itinerary actually includes us going to ESPN Club (Boardwalk) after Animal Kingdom's EMH. I highly recommend it.

I actually prefer the Big River Grille and Brewery to the ESPN club. The Rocket Red is a great beer. They also have an awesome mahi-mahi sandwich. It's nothing fancy or upscale, but it's good. They have a wonderful fresh guacamole dip too. My father prefers their ribs. During the fall they make an AMAZING stout along with a great pilsner. If you're into fresh beer, it's a great place to go. But be forwarned their beers have a LOT of flavor.

If you actually knew me like a few people around here, you'd know that I probably shouldn't know this anyway. :lookaroun
