Has anyone been to wdw recently on the BASIC DINING PLAN?
i understand now gratuity is NOT included........so can you tell me how does this work?
do you TIP the way you want?
When i was making my ADR for Hollywood and Vine, the CM told me gratuity is not included and i will get a special TICKET for gratuity.......

is this true? how does this work?

The special ticket is nothing more that your typical dinning receipt with an option for tipping. This gives you the ability to put it on your room key or other charge card. It will also have precalculated tip amounts printed on it (15% and 18%). You can also tip in cash if you wish or not tip at all, it is your choice.

Also, if you're dining in a party of 6 or more, an 18% gratuity is "charged" to you automatically (meaning you're required to pay it somehow).

If their breathing and at the table then they count. So yes you will automatically be charged the 18% gratuity. If you get really bad service and don't want to tip that much, speak up to a manager and get the tip changed.

I don't think children under 3 count toward the 6 person size of a group, though perhaps they are if a specific meal is ordered for them. If they don't order their own meal and jsut share off of their parents' plates, I wouldn't see them being counted.

From what I've read on this board and others it's the number of warm bodies at the table, not the number of people ordering meals.

It doesn't matter if it's an infant or Grandma who didn't order a thing, they are still a body. If the bodies total up to 6 or more than the automatic gratuity is added.

Is it right? I don't know, but that is how it is.

yes tips are no longer included in ANY dining plan

The Average tip to give at any wdw restaurant is between 15 and 18 percent

But 6 people 18 percent is included automatically
