Looking for suggestions for dinner for 1, on the dining package:

Debating on:

Poly, GF or MK restaurants

Any suggestions? I called and the night I want to go Ohana's last ressie is for 8:40p which is too late for me, so Ohana's out.

I had a ball at Chef Mickey's (Contemporary) all by myself. And, they had no ressies but I went anyway just in case, and they had a table where the folks hadn't shown up. I was seated in about 10 minutes. However, I strongly discourage you from posting that you "partied with Daffy" while at Chef Mickey's. That duck would be DONALD, as my fellow WDWMAGIC friends so quickly pointed out!

I don't think I'd enjoy 'Ohana alone as the food is served family style - more a group thing. Kona Cafe (Polynesian) might be a good choice, though. I've never eaten there but menu looks good and people on the boards give it a favorable review.

Next trip alone, I'm going to the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary.

Try the Kona Kafe on the Poly or the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary.
The only place we eat in the MK is the Liberty Tree Tavern and Caseys.

I've been to Kona and it was very good, as well as Grand Floridian Cafe. I haven't been to the Concourse, but I'm going there on my July trip.

dining with kids

I am wondering which best sit down restaunts would be best with a 4 year old and a 17 month old. Also, I have read on here that there may be some restrictions on what food you can order at some locations with the dining plan, is this true? Is there a price limit on what you can order? Will it be stated on the menu?

I didnt eat at the concourse by myself but I could see it. It had good food (one of the best meals I have had at Disney) and was quiet and relaxing. So concourse gets my vote.

Not sure if you tried already, but you mentioned the LAST seating they had was too late.
Why not try the EARLIEST seating they have???

We always hit the dinner spots as early as we can to avoid the crowds and get out with some time left in the parks still! Try around 4PM if it's available! Then you can take your time and still have a whole night ahead of you to explore!

In any event, we still think O'HANA is the best placeo n the MK loop to dine!

GOOD LUCK!

Here's the link to the website that explains the dining plan in full detail. http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dining.htm The items that can't be ordered at a sit down are what are considered "add on's" like a lobster tail to go with your steak entree and a starter item that is meant for two people cannot be order by one person.

I would recommend Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace, O'hana's and Garden Grill which will be fun for the kids as they have charaters or entertainment. Prime Time is fun.

Concourse Steakhouse has the best filet mignon in the world, hands down. Ohana's has a very good selection, and is great for being a family-style buffet. Chef Mickey's is always fun, though I suggest you prepare for some napkin-waving. :lookaroun
