Dining Suggestions for Christmas Day

Our family will be at Disney World from December 20th to December 26th. I know it is going to be CROWDED but that's okay - we're looking forward to our first Christmas there.

Any suggestions on a good place to eat on Christmas Day? Does anyone know if any of the resorts have a special Christmas menu? I know I need to hurry up and make PS reservations.

We have a 5 and 9 year old kid!

Thanks for your suggestions!

We will also be eating in the parks on Christmas Day. We always like to eat at Biergarten Restaurant in Germany in Epcot. They have a special Christmas show that is really nice while you eat. Some other suggestions for you if that is not your thing would be Alfredo's, also in Epcot, or Tony's Town Square, in the Magic Kingdom. I don't know of any restaurants with a special menu for Christmas.

On Christmas Day I would want to avoid Magic Kingdom b/c it would be ever so crowded. Therefore I wold pick a country in Epcot to eat at. Biergarten in Germany is great food and fun, just make sure you get a PS time during a scheduled performance. (We ate here for New Years last year.) Then maybe see if you can check out the CandleLight Processional at the later showing, arrive at least 30-40 mins early.

Or, for more traditional food, try 50s Prime Time or another MGM restaurant. Then you can walk through the Osborne Lights after your meal.

Regardless, call for your PS's soon, and have a Merry Christmas and a fun trip. I'll be heading in on the 26th, which also happens to be my birthday, yeah!! Our trips are close, cannot wait! :xmas:

I at at Alfredo's in Epcot on Christmas Day a few years ago. Epcot didn't seem to be very crowded, although it was raining and misting most of the day. :( I think they had a regular menu. I would check AllEars Net fo christmas dining menues and the regualr menus.

We will be there christmas day too.We chose to eat at Gullivers at the Swan hotel. It is a buffett and pretty good.Christmas 2002 I said never agian but here we are going.I will not go into MK that day it will be elbow to elbow and rude peop;e, so I think we may go too EPCOT ot studios. If you want to try MK then IMO I'd go to LTT.Great food and setting. I hope you have a great time.

It's pretty late for making Xmas PS's, so I'd call and see what's available before setting your heart on anything.
We did Morocco 2 years ago, and It was great. It was the only PS we were able to get, but we loved it.
Thanksgiving last year we couldn't get PS's so we ended up eating at the All Star....they had a traditional Turkey platter, and we ate it poolside! Something we would never normally do, but it made for a memorable night!

Thanks for your replies. I called today and Liberty Tree Tavern and Chef Mickey's were totally booked for Christmas Day. I made a PS reseravation for the Garden Grille in Epcot. We've never been there but the CM thought that my kids would enjoy it. I considered Gulliver's at the Swan which was also available, but decided on Garden Grille instead.

If you've been there before did you enjoy it??

Your kids are the perfect age for Garden Grille.

Yes, I think they will enjoy it. There is lots of interaction with Farmer Mickey and Minnie, and of course Chip and Dale.

The restaurant revolves and you get to see different scenes of Living with the Land.

I'm glad you got a PS somewhere and didn't wait any longer.

Thanks Yellow Shoes! How is the food at the Garden Grill? I did a search and found a few threads about it. Some say the food is not all that good while others say it's great! Oh well, I guess I just need to find out for myself. I just really want it to be a memorable meal since it is Christmas Day. This is our first year to not be home for Santa - we're sending him a letter to let him know where to find us!

I also made PS reservations for Whispering Canyon Cafe and Boma for other days in the week. We've been to both and really enjoyed them.

Can't wait for our trip!
