Hi All

I am a couple of weeks away from booking my dining reservations,

Does anyone have any recommendations, or any 'ones to avoid'

It will be me (Single father) and my 7yo son, visiting from the UK

All parks advice needed, both for Lunch and Dinners

7 year olds will like:
Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom
&
Chef Mickeys in the Contemporary Resort Hotel
(Dad's will have plenty of choices at these suggested eateries as well)

At Animal Kingdom, Tusker Houser (character buffet) and Flame Tree BBQ (QS, but very good bbq).
Never been there, but Pizzafari might appeal to him also for a QS meal.
Hollywood and Vine is another good choice at Studios. It is a character buffet and will have items that appeal to both of you.

What kinds of things does your son like?

I’ve never eaten there, but I’ve heard good things about TRex at Disney Springs.

If you have not already done this you can go to the URL below and look at every menu for every restaurant (including prices) at WDW. We do this every trip (especially when travelling with the grandkids) to make sure there are things on the menu that everyone can enjoy.
