Dining Reservations set...but......

Whenever I was first eligible to make my sit down dining reservations on My Disney Experience I did it. I got something my family of three could all agree on at AK and at Epcot. Oh....also at Disney Springs. (We are not going to Hollywood Studios).
BUT.......I know my wife wants "Be Our Guest" at MK, but on my first day of booking eligibility it was already booked up. My only "child" will turn 17 in November....our upcoming 3.5 days at WDW will be in early Nov. In previous trips we've done Cinderella's Castle and Crystal Palace so I booked Tony's this time. We've never been there. Try something new for a change ;)

Here are my 2 questions:
#1 In the "old days" I used to call Disney Dining and make dining reservations over the phone. Do/Can people still do that or is it just on My Disney Experience and that's it?
#2 IF I CAN call.....is there any realistic hope that someone will cancel their "Be Our Guest" reservation and I can get lucky and grab it?

Party size of 3? Yes, you're good to go. Let me know how it works, please.
If I get a reservation for Be Our Guest I will surely come back to this thread and share my happiness with everyone. That being said, I will still check here if anyone has anything additional to say. ........I would have felt better if the software had given a pop up screen or words of confirmation that my registration on the dining reservation finder had been successfully received.

Today I received an e-mail from tourplans.com encouraging me to upgrade.
Now I know that I'm in their system.
Thanks again to everyone who posted on my thread :)

I am a first timer using touringplans as well. One thing to make note of is if you get a notification that a reservation is available but you don't get to it in time you will need to go back and "refresh" your search. I'm 0 for 3 so far in securing a reservation after getting the text, but will keep trying.

And don't despair. You'd be amazed how many reservations come up at the 48-24hour before time frame. Since the penalty fee for not canceling the day before was instituted, lots of people still make several ressies, and decide at the last minute, but they cancel them a day or 2 before.

I'll be in Alabama 48 before......and Pensacola followed by traveling to Pop Century 24 hours before. I have the app on my phone but if the text comes in and I'm on an Interstate at 70 mph I might not be in a position to respond. I'm hoping it is settled sooner than that.

Yes, you have to be quick... it took me three tries before snagging BOG with this app.
Not gonna try.
Just learned last night that dinner at BOG requires 2 Disney Dining credits.
We've already eaten there for lunch in 2015.
...........yet we are not interested in burning 2 dining credits for dinner.
