OK, how does this sound to you.
We've a party of 8. 6 adults. 2 kids under 4.
We'll be there 8 nights from Dec 2-10.
We're staying at the Contemporary and hace the dining plan.
Here's our choices for the table service restaurants:

Supper Day 2 (MK)- 4 adults California Grill
2 adults/ 2 kids - Polynesian Luau
Lunch Day 3 (EP)- Everyone - Garden Grill at the Land Character meal
Breakfst Day 4 (Typhoon)- Everyone - Ohana character meal at the Polynesian
Supper Day 6 (EP)- Everyone - Marrakesh at Epcot
Supper Day 7 (MGM)- 4 adults - Flying Fish Cafe at Boardwalk
2 adults/2 kids - undecided
Supper Day 8 (MK)- Everyone - Liberty Tree Tavern character meal at the Magic Kingdom.

We're not really a breakfast bunch, so the other lunches and dinners will be covered by the counter service choices. Let me know what you think!

That sounds like a pretty darn good dining set up to me. I want to go with your group! lol!

I hope you've made reservations or started to.

The dining plan allows one sit down meal point per night of stay, so you have 8 per person. However, some of the places you have selected require 2 sit down points, so you are over the 8 per person. The ones that require 2 that are on your list are:

California Grill
Polynesian Luau
Flying Fish Cafe at Boardwalk

Note: Disney has caught on to people paying for kids meals out of pocket and saving them and using them for adult meals at the higher end places.

Shoppingnut, Yes I know some are two sit down meals. This was set out using only the 8 points available to each person. Only half of our group is going to the Luau, the other half to the California Grill.

Oh, and PaulTetal,
Luau is for the kids, not the food, Ohana character meal 'cause we've done Chef Mickeys in the past, Marrakesh we love, and Flying Fish from other reviews we've read, but thanks for your input!

skip the Luau - Very expensive and the staff are VERY RUDE!

Go to Ohona - My kids loved Ohona, we will be going back there the same week you are there as well!

On your MGM day, I wouldn't agree with switching from Flying Fish to ESPNZone. They're not even in the same league. Flying Fish is fine dining and ESPN is pub grub. Not that it's not good pub grub (trust me, I eat there), but if you're looking for a nice night out with 4 adults, that will be a disappointment. But I would agree with Brown Derby as a replacement if you didn't want to leave MGM for dinner that day.

I am here *right now* and there are NO issues with paying cash for kid's meals. The waiters know the drill and are OK with it. I do it at dinner and for Quick Service meals. I use the extra QS meals for breakfast at the hotel (we usually split it).

Marrakesh was just OK. Ate there last night. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend eating at JIKO (2 svc credits) or BOMA (1) instead. Or Le Cellier (1 credit). I have eaten much, much better Morrocan elsewhere and although a decent meal it was humid and warm and the food was just OK.

Instead try Tangerine for lunch (better than Marrakesh and next door). A GREAT Quick Service value. $15-$16 per person can be utlized for a lunch counter meal.

Once again JIKO has been the best meal so far. Tangerine (Epcot Morroco) and the rib/chicken (name escaping me) at AK have been best counter/quick meals.

Chef Mickey's food was just OK, but my 4 year old loved it.

If you are staying at Poly, why not do Kona? -- Heard good things.

PAY CASH FOR KIDS!!!!!! Save those credits for double meals.
