Dining reservation - Extra Person

Hello,

Have you ever had experience with someone last minute wanting to join you for a meal? If you show up for a reservation that was made for a party of 3 as 4 are they accommodating or will they turn you away? I ask as my brother may or may not join us for a few days. I know traditionally parties of 3 are sat at 4 tops anyway so adding a 4th person in theory shouldn't be a big deal. Thank you in advance!

It may not be difficult to accommodate the 4th person as you would be seated at a 4 top anyways as you mentioned.
However it also depends on the exact number of people in the restaurant.
Instead of booking for 3 and then showing up with an extra its better to book for 4 and show up with one less.

During my last visit, I was able to check in through the My Disney Experience app, and it always gave me the option to add an additional person to the reservation when I was checking in. You should be fine.

Weve had it happen where upon asking the hostess for the extra person they accommodated us. We are usually 3 dining together so adding the 4th hasnt been a problem and we havent been turned down. Youd be less likely to get a table if multiple people showed up unannounced and they had to find a larger table to seat you at during a time when they are buzy.

Thanks all! I have played around a bit with and had some success with cancelling and immediately rebooking, but don't want to lose reservations at California Grill and Oga's
