Dining Question for Dinner

Okay so I hope this makes sense. If we choose to skip main dining and eat sit down in the Buffet dining room will we miss some of the choices of food? Or does it follow a rotation so we would get all the same food at some point. We want to experience each dining room 1 times but where thinking on the nights where all the main dining have the same meal like for say Pirate night or Formal night we could still get the in the other restaurant.
Is is possible to read the menus for the Main Dining Room and then check out the Buffest restaurant and then pick where to go. We aren't doing Remy or Palo because it is just 2 Adults and 1 6 year old boy enjoying family time.

TIA

P.S. We are on a 5 night cruise.

No, what is on the menu in the main dining rooms will not be available at the buffet, and every time you go back to a main dining room the menu will change!

That said there is still plenty at the buffet to keep you happy, all depends in your preference

Actually, after the first night, the buffet is not really a buffet.

If the restaurants are having a rotational meal, they serve one or two choices from each restaurant. On themed nights they will serve the same food as the restaurants.

People actually really enjoy eating there. It's casual, show up whenever you want and usually pretty quiet!

You can check the menu at the restaurants, they post them during the day. When you get to the "buffet" if there's not a menu posted, ask to see one and you can decide if you want to stay. :)

Believe it or not, this is one of the things that we've never done. We have almost always enjoyed our serving team and so always go to our rotational restaurant.

I guess I'd be afraid that I"d miss something that I really wanted in the main dining room if Cabana's/Topsider's/Beach Blanket only has "a couple" items from each of the restaurants.

Plus, do you tip the staff? If so, do you subtract it from your serving team's tip?

I haven't either because I never want to miss my servers or the dining room! I've been reading how many people love it though and I've decided I must try it on a longer cruise.

You don't tip them, or subtract from your servers tip.

How do they make money, then?

My impression is that they are servers in training and it's a fully paid position like some of the other non tipped positions you see. Like Kid's Club staff, maintenance guys, etc.

I'm sure no one would turn down a tip, but they truly don't expect it! :)
