Dining Plan Usage

At work this evening, a man noticed my mickey tie. He started asking me questions about my love of Disney. I informed of my travels to the world. He then told me he is a DVC member. He asked me if I was a fan of the deluxe dining plan. I informed him of my preference to pay out of pocket because I didn't feel I got my monies worth. He told me that he would save up his snack credits. That he was told they were 7 bucks a credit and would purchase his merchandise w/those unused credits. Is this possible? Seemed off, but he was very certain.

Hmmmmm I have never heard of such a thing ever. Inquiring minds would like to know. Lol I really doubt there is any truth to that as to me it would have been discussed before. Things that make you go hmmmmm!!!

I have never heard of that either. $7 a credit seems a little high. I know that you can convert your CS credits into snack credits. I forget whether you get 2 or 3 snack credits when you convert a CS credit. We have done that before on our last day when we haven't used all of the CS credits.

Can't say I've ever heard that. Very very very slight chance that the premium plans might treat them differently (as you may much more for the plan), but I don't think that is the case. Perhaps they misunderstood using snack credits to buy the packaged candy/snacks from stores using the snack credits?

You know, all the questions asked here are questions I asked. He kept telling me that the cm told him to save them and buy shirts or whatever. Nice guy and I enjoyed our wdw talk, but we disagreed on a few travel tips. Thanks for your quick responses.

The snacks we were able to get with our plan were all $5.00 and under.

You can't do that anymore they changed the rules for 2013.

Oh, no! I did not know that. We never use all of our CS credits. It doesn't surprise me that Disney changed it though. Oh, we'll, at least we have free dining this trip.

No no DVC perk of such exists! Lol I am a DVC memeber have never seen that discussed or ever heard of it either. Would be nice though if it would magically be true. Lol

We are DVC members and we always have the DDDP. In the past we have use our left over snack credits for chocolate bars candy lollipops and such and we have been given $4 per snack credit, DS takes them to his friends as presents. This not a DVC perk it was just a way of using up our credits by getting things that counted as snacks!
