Dining Plan Timing Question

Hello,

As I understand it, if I have 4 day/3 night stay... my dining plan only covers 3 of the "days"...

How does the timing on that work? if I arrive on Tuesday and leave on Friday, do I just get a bank of credits to use between the 4 days or do they have to be used on specific days?

It is my understanding that you get them all up front so you can use them however you want. If you wanted to use 2 quick meals in one day that would be fine but at midnight on the day you leave, they are no good.

It's up to you...

Sometimes we run out of snack credits and sometimes we have leftover ones and we take snacks home on the road w/ us!:)
We eat a quick service meal the 1st night and then have an extra snack. I do keep receipts to keep track of credits.:)
6 nights = 6 TS 6QS 6Snacks for your trip pp. If there's 4 in your party, then you'd have a total of 18x4=72 credits for your trip!
I usually book 4 TS meals and then I have and extra to book a show like HOOPDEEDOO!:)
Good luck and have fun!

So, let me attempt to break it down so that I understand better and can make the right decision (for me)

The Magic your Way Plus Dining offers 1 Snack, 1 Quick Service and 1 Table Service per night.

In a 4 day, 3 night stay for 3 people we have a total of 9 snack credits, 9 quick service and 9 table over the 4 days?

If we were to upgrade to the Deluxe dining, we would have 3 meals and 2 snacks per person, per night... a grand total of 27 meals and 18 snacks over the 4 days?

Does that sound right?

That's right, but that's expensive. You said you had three... how old is the other person... is it a child? I'm asking because a snack can be a muffin which will fill them for the morning... and possibly you too. Plus there are ways to utalize the points.

All told it will be 5 to split the food with... but its 2 adults with 3 kids (5, 2 and newborn)

So the 5 and 2 year old will be sharing a plate off of the kids menu most likely.

The 5 year old is on the children's dining. Children 3 and under cant get it.

Ah. Well I think most of the time Disney's proportions are massive. Also at some places the 3 year old should be able to share off of one of the adult plates since they aren't old enough for the children's dinning plan. The only time I could see you running into a problem is snack time when they might want a Mickey bar and those are hard to split unless you pass them back and forth.

That's when Daddy suffers and gives the littlest one ice cream :)

If you book the Buffets for your table service then the 2 year olds can have its own plate. The buffets are great for when you have one that is not on the dinning plan but is eating solid food. We went one year with our 2 year old granddaughthers and did the buffets and no one left hungry.

Also sound advice. I'll try and lean more towards buffet eating (more for me!) :king:

When we visit, our little guy will be a few weeks shy of turning 3. I have been told that he is "allowed" to eat for free off of a buffet. My goal is to book as many buffets as I can. :lookaroun :animwink:

Edit: Oops - should've read the whole thread to see stichs post. My apologies.
