Dining plan price increase

In just the past few weeks, we've seen park ticket increases, dining plan increases, and also an end to bringing outside food into the parks. Just wondering, what's next?
According to another thread, a likely resort fee for things to are right now free (wifi, MagicExpress etc)

It is actually cheaper for us to rent a car for most of the trip, go to the grocers for some stuff, and drive offsite to eat.

I determined a few years back that the DDP did not work out number wise for me. Most years I lost money and one or two times I came out ahead, but as a friend pointed out the DDP changed the way I usually dined. I am not a dessert person, so would take the dessert 'to go' and then ended up taking most of them home for someone to enjoy after my trip.

Even Tables in Wonderland - which worked much better for me - has seen a hefty increase. The first time I used it was about 4 years ago and it cost me $75. I just renewed it last month and the cost was $150.

These price increases are getting out of sight - at some point soon I may just say this is absurd and decide to make Disney a once every few year destination.

Our old pal frosty Josh is saying restaurant prices are up across the board

I saw he posted yesterday that all Character Buffet lunches are priced the same as Dinner now. Akershus went from $49 to $58. He gave an example of of a family of four (2 adults, 13 year old and 7 year old) and how lunch would now cost $243.80 w/tax & 18% tip. It was ridiculous before but now it's just getting obscene.

Price increases on top or price increases. Its frustrating. Some people want to work 51 weeks a year in misery to go to Disney for the other week. Disney should embrace them, not push them away with large price increases. If they were smart they would find a way to let them just lock in for years on end and give them a break on price increases somehow.

ok... is it just me or are they raising prices of EVERYTHING across the board (resorts, food, tickets, etc.) - which ends up costing the average family much more than before because increases are in everything. It would make more sense to stagger these things a little better... but people are still gonna come... so.... ugh....
