Dining plan on DVC?

Pardon me if this issue has been discussed millions of times here, but this is my first time posting in the DVC forum. I'm not even a member, and have no plans to become one at this time, although I am interested in joining sometime in the future if/when we get the money to do so.

My question is, how do you get the dining plan if you are DVC members? Since you have already purchased your points, then you aren't forking out money for a hotel room, so are you able to purchase the dining plan?

You may purchase the dining plan, but free dining offers don't apply.

We have reserved a room at Saratoga Springs for Christmas and the confirmation that came back gave a number to call to add the dining plan. YOu have to pay the usual price and for every night of the stay. You also have to add it BEFORE you go.

DisneyMarg is correct. SB, on the same trip I met you and your lovely wife, I took the DVC open house tour... my guide said that since most DVC members are AP holders (and thus, don't purchase Magic Your Way tickets), they were able to "convince" Disney to let them separate the Dining Plan from the tickets. As Marg mentioned, you will NOT be eligible for any "free dining" offers, but you will be able to buy the dining plan for the going rate (i think around $40+ per day?)

Your right, I called a few days ago about it. It's $39.95 for adults and $10.95 for kids 3-9
