Dining plan menus

I was wondering if there is a website or if people could tell me what I cant order with the dining plan package. I was under the asumption that some things are not included other than alcohol. Like for example I want to go to the rose and crown dining room and get a nice steak entree is that part of the package or is there only a few things on the menu I can choose from. Trying to make this clear to a tee what I am trying to get at.

Thanks for everyones soon to be help.

The only real restrictions are things that are meant for more than 1 (i.e. appetizer platters for 2; dessert samplers). And "add on's" (i.e. you order the steak and want to add on the lobster tail).

Otherwise, as long as it is a participating restaurant, you can order as you please.

Exactly, when you get the lobster tail added to a steak dinner that would count as your appetizer. Be prepared to eat.

My brother used the dining plan and he was able to print out a worksheet type of thing from the official Disney site. Have you looked there?

well that worksheet thing could be very helpful. I too am interested in this. We are going back for Christmas with a group of 13 and this plan might work out great for us. However, I think it will require a great deal of research.

This is the chart that indicates which restaurants currently participate. Certain restaurants indicate there may be a surcharge for certain menu items [Wolfgang Puck's, Plant Hollywood, possibly others], some restaurants cound for two table service meals.

When I ate at Wolfgang Pick's Cafe, I asked about the surcharge and my waiter said there were no restrictions on Dining Plan. I had the Filet Mignon and an appetizer as well as dessert without any problem [other than finishing everything].

Ok, I printed out the dining plan "menu" from the above link. I reviewed other dining plan threads, I also reviewed the disneyworld website. Still, I have one unanswered question, perhaps someone here can help me (if we don't renew our ap's).

We will be a group of 12 or 13. On our last trip at each table service meal we would have to pay the automatic 20% tip which often times added a minimum of $40 to our bill. The dining plan says gratuities included where applicable. Does anyone know if this is extended to groups or if groups are excluded from this benefit? The inclusion of the gratuities could be the icing on the cake in making our decision, as the one meal we always share together is the nice sit down meal.

DDP includes an 18% gratuity, can't see where that would be any different for groups. Basically, you debit a meal per person and it covers everything including tip. [You can add to the tip if the service warrants it!]

It is an appetizer (and entree and desert) PER PERSON, not per table. You will eat so much food it is ridiculous.

But you don't actually have to eat it all :lookaroun

I ordered desserts and appetizers that I knew I couldn't possibly eat, just to increase the servers' tips. Of course, some had to be sampled, just to say I tried them [and some were polished off :lookaroun, just because I tried them... They were just so good!]

Well, thanks for the clarification. I couldn't find the info anywhere and wanted to make sure I understood it all clearly. Too bad you can't have your desert sent to your resort for package pickup ;)

Ok, sorry to be such a pain in the rear, but my husband is just worried that I am confused on this and I am making it out to be too good to be true. So lets say we go to Le Cellier for dinner for our table service meal. He could order
Seared Canadian Scallops $10.99 (appetizer)
20 oz. Grilled Prime Rib eye $36.99 (entree)
Canadian Club Cake $7.99 (desert)
Diet Coke (ok, iced tea) $ ?? (drink)

for a pretax total of $56 just for his meal, then we have me and the two children. Is THIS right????

I'm from Buffalo too!!

 Hi all-
I am also from Buffalo...near the art gallery!
As for the dining plan, please tell your husband it isn't too good to be true! We will never go to WDW w/o it! Yes...you can order anything on the menu so long as the resteraunt participates with the dining plan, and most all of them do. The only time I have found that the dining plan is not helpful is (at very few times) when the meal requires 2 meal tickets, and the original cost would have been less to start with. For example, the Royal Table now costs 31.99 for breakfast. It is all you can eat, and to die for I might add. Now, assuming you pay the 2 sit down meal tickets it requires, you have just paid $74 a piece for breakfast. ($37/day for the meal plan.) In this case I would just pay for the meal and save the extra money. But at the end of the day, you CANNOT beat the dining plan. You will NEVER eat all of the food they give you either. Most often, our dessert that comes with breakfast (no, I am not kidding) served as a quick brreakfast or late nite snack. (thats why you want the refrigerator in your room!). You can look at not only the resteraunts themselves, but also the menus that are posted, with costs, at http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningmain.cfm. Just follow the instructions and you can retrieve almost every menu to get an idea of what you might like. May I also tell you that reservations can now be made 180 days in advance, and for most of the sit down resteraunts, you will actually NEED to have this planned out. Please DO NOT expect to get to Disney and be able to go to the resteraunts you want to w/o having priority seating arranged, because you will be very disappointed! So long as you have park hopper tickets, this advance planning will not result in overplanning your trip. If you want to eat at Coral Reef (and believe me you so!) in Epcot, make your reservation on that 180th day prior to the day you want to dine. Then, if Epcot isn't where you end up that day, you just go back to the room, wash up, and catch the next bus to Epcot for dinner! The diining plan will save you a ton of $$, and you will not be limited in your choices! :sohappy: Also, you can see the chart that tells you what resteraunts accept the dining plan and how many tickets they cost at http://adisneyworld.disney.go.com/media/wdw/images2003/languagespecific/eng/nontheme/tickets/MYWDining.pdf

That's exactly right and is the benefit of the DDP. Not only that, they'll cover the taxes AND an 18% gratuity. It is definately too good to be true if you plan meals like that for your Table Service meals. The trick is whether you can eat that much food and plan well enough to use all your credits!
