Dining Plan for under age 3

Does anybody know if a child under age 3 can get on the dining plan? I tried to add that for our daughter and the CM I spoke to say the system won't allow it. I don't understand why as they can eat the same children's meals.

Thanks,
Mike

They don't have a dining plan for those under age 3, just like they don't have theme park tickets for those under 3 (and therefore, don't get free admission on their birthday or equivalent entitlement)

They expect them to share meals from their parents or siblings.

They currently don't charge you for children under 3 at an all you can eat buffet....

That is correct. A child under age 3 eats free - from a parent's plate. Which is a pretty great deal if you ask me.

Our kids never ate much at meal times when we are at Disney. Just too much to do and see - plus all those yummy snacks! (Not to say we let them go hog wild, but they don't normally get ice cream or a huge pile of popcorn every day at 3pm!)

Now that our DS is 5, we just order his kids meal and split it between them. Sometimes we order extra grapes, chips, etc. but usually there is no need.

Have a great trip!

They won't allow you to get the dining plan for under age 3. If you want a meal for them then you can just pay out of pocket at the restaurant.

I know of agents that will sell the dining plan as long as a ticket is bought for the infant as well.

You can try that and see what happens. You may still get told no and have to have the infant eat off your plate or buy their a kid meal for them.

But then you are basically telling Disney that the child is age 3 or over - and that may affect room occupancy rules; ie. 4 persons plus 1 child under age 3 in a crib is the standard for most rooms...

Thanks all. We will just budget a little extra for food for her. She will eat some off of our plates but she might not eat some of what we would get.

Thanks again!

Yep. That's something you have to weigh in your decision if you really want the dining plan that badly. It's not worth it if it bumps you up a room category, but if it doesn't then it's something you can consider.

Personally, I don't think it is, but some parents do.

Also, usually an 8 or 9 year old will be able to be 10 for the adult dining plan as long as the parents are willing to pay for the adult ticket price.
