Are they any new set rules for this yet from disney?

New set rules for what?

Nothing they’ve done so far is technically a “new rule”.

Child credits were always supposed to be used for a child meal, it’s just they didn’t differentiate the credits so it couldn’t be tracked.

Nowhere is it written that you can exchange QS credits for snacks, it’s something that is allowed at some places, including F&W booths, but not all.

Nowhere does it say that all restaurants on Disney property will be part of the dining plan.

They’ve just tightened up and closed the loopholes.

Since the child's menu is not posted for Casey's for me to look up, does anyone have knowledge what the meals are?

There wasn’t one, which is what caused the consternation. Now it’s been reported that the CMs are saying there is a “hidden” one coming. You have to ask for it until the menu boards etc are updated. Yet to see anyone post about it though.

Yes, that is why I was asking if anyone knew what they were. I will be there in about 2.5 weeks and was wondering if it is worth getting in line for my son or not.

Actually, I was just a POR for a week (left last Saturday) and not only was there a sign as you entered the QS food court explaining what constituted a QS meal, it also said that one QS meal could be exchanged for three snacks if purchased at the same time. And each time I went into Fultons I was reminded of this fact by the CMs.

So it is written somewhere 😉

Haha! It isn’t specified in the small print of the dining plans though.

Some food courts at resorts do not allow it, others do. So I assume it must be down to the manager at each resort. POR has the right idea in actually stating it so people don’t get tothe tills and have to ask (although plenty probably still do that anyway, having failed to read the sign).

I know - was mostly teasing you because you said “nowhere”.

I agree with you that POR had the right by putting up signs (and they are well written and posted in areas that you see). They also must do a lot of training of staff, as one day neither my DD were particularly hungry at lunchtime and took some “snacks” from the grab and go area. The CM ringing it up said “this item plus this item” can be consider a QS credit if you would prefer and the others I can take off as snack credits.

We have never had an issue trading in a meal for three snacks. Heck, every time we enter a park, my wife (who doesn't ride rides) goes straight to Starbucks for 3 coffees as a meal.

We usually do the QS plan, because we don't like to plan our whole trip around long sit-down meals. So we will do a couple of character meals out of pocket, and QS the rest. But with the loss of flexibility for my kiddo, and the uncertainty about using the credits as snacks, we just cancelled our QS plan for our April trip. We will come out ahead, and it's one less thing keep track of.

True sorry just so used to these being options (in terms of trading snack credits not abusing kids credits)

Reports are that trading an adult QS credit for snacks can still be done at many places.

But there are several reports from people who were not allowed to trade a child QS credit at all, including one from a CM who works at Epcot confirming that is what they have been told.
