I hate the phrase cash grab. I have read it so many times it has lost all meaning. Basically, it now means "Disney is doing something I don't like that makes them money".

something at detracts from other guests to make money. in this case a r ediculous impromptu dining area.

Sounds like a dessert party for Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam. Yes, it seems reasonable they would go for something like this. Doesn't make it any less intrusive. DHS isn't MK and it's sad they have to resort to these kind of measures that ultimately obstruct the scenery and guest flow. How I wish the park wasn't so small, even without construction happening.

it isn't detracting per say from regular guests but it just looks so cheesy when you walk by it. I feel bad for the folks that shell out for it period.

It’s not “cheesy” at all imo. We attended the dessert party last year. Nicely set up, had a great time, haven’t heard any complaints.

You don’t view JBJB from that spot, you go to a different area before the show starts.

The real slap in the face is that it's sat right in front of GMR :(
I'm with you right there...we just got the beautiful view back.

It starts 2 hours before park closing.. and the exact same view is blocked by the wall of people waiting for JBJB to start.
I’d think that the tucked away folks in the dessert party would be easier to maneuver around than all of the folks hanging out staking their viewing spot.

It's just another reminder that GMR is closed. Everytime I look at that theater now it just doesn't seem the same.

I went last night for an hour before close. I didn't see a whole lot of the Sunset Blvd ToT holiday show, but from what I saw it was pleasant and reminded me of a toned down Osborne. I think they could stand to add in some more lights on the strip, but I did appreciate the timing of the lights with the music, and the snow between songs. Much more "holiday" feel to me than JBJB. What I loved about Osborne was that there was no set time for the show, it was an all night thing so crowds were much more spread out and enjoyable rather than everyone packing in for an 8pm JBJB.
