Dining ? How hard to change ADR?

We are going in November and my mother has now decided she will not be going with us...:( We have existing ADR's and I want to know...if you need to change the number of people for an ADR, say from 4 to 3, do they cancel out the reservation and do you get the same time? Do they even care? I can't remember, but I believe they ask you if your entire party is there.
I was on hold for 20 minutes today, and gave up. :brick:
I just don't want to get there and they tell me we can't dine there because we have 3 instead of 4. Thanks for your help!

I have never had a problem with going from 4 to 3 because most of the seating are 4 tops and would be the same whether you have 4 or 3. Disney does like to be aware of the change if a deposit is required. The two I've had to call on was Cinderella's Royal Table and Askeruas Princess breakfast. I have never been turned away for having less people. However, I do try and let them know.

I do not think it will matter. It is easier to have one less person than to add people. They will probably seat a party of three at the same size table as a party of four. We have had several times where one in our party did not go eat at the last minute because they were not feeling well, etc...and it has never been a problem. I think it is only a problem if the change in the number of people would effect the table size...such as going from 6 people to three. I dont think going from 4 to 3 will matter.

Hi Kris, No worries. I certainly would change the number but in most cases the table for four that you have booked would also be the table for three people as well, understand?? So there wouldnt have to be a change. If you were going from 4 to 5 that is a whole different ballgame and would require a rebooking and a cancellation. Also this leaves the option if Mom decides she is better and does decide to go. Best of luck!!! Belle

Hi there Kris, I dont think it will be a problem in any event. If you take her off now, you will just spend more time later putting her back on. You can always take her off later as plans become definite. Have a wonderful time!! Belle
