We are an Irish family that have been to disney many times, but it will be our first time to dine at Raglan Road.
Will we like it??:slurp:
What's it like? Does anybody have any pictures of the food?

I've eaten there five or six times and never been disappointed with the food. One visit we were in a room where conversation was impossible because of the noise levels, but only the once. I absolutely love the place! Have the Scallop Forest appetizer [it says its for sharing, but I refused to!]! It is wonderful!

Me and my mom went to Raglen Road on our last trip and loved it!!! We didn't know what to expect, but a few friends told us how good it was there and it was so good!

I had the chicken with mashed potatos and asparagus...forget what its called on the menu, but it was great. And my mother had the guiness meatballs and pasta meal and she loved it. Unfortunately we did not take pictures of the food.

Raglan Road is the only restaurant on our list that has to be repeated every trip. We love it. Bread pudding:slurp::slurp::slurp:!!! Try to go later in the evening and catch the music, too.

The last time I went, it was later in the evening, and it was some of the worst service, and food, I've experienced in a long time. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and hope it was due to it being later (around 10PM), and perhaps being short-staffed or something. I spoke with the manager at the time, who was less than responsive.

The food is small portions and over priced. Same with Cooks since they want to give only like 10 pieces of chips with an order.

The chips are the size of my thumb or bigger, I'm lucky if I get to the end of my chicken and chips at Cooke's. I think its a great value. I agree that the value for money at Raglan Road is decreasing a bit because the menu is staying largely the same but the prices continue to rise. However I don't consider the portions anywhere near small.

Here are our pages for each restaurant including menus and reviews:

I love the Fish and Chips and got them both times I went. The last time I was there our server tried to talk me into ordering the seafood chowder, he said it was the best dish he's ever had at any restaurant he's worked at. I was tempted but needed my F and C. My husband had the shepherd's pie and it wasn't so good. My mil LOVED the pie in the sky.
Raglan Road was where I had my first 250 anniversary Guinness. AMAZING; I buy it any time I find it now...unfortunately it's available for a limited time.

We enjoyed our food and it's a great setting.
However, I didn't do my research and went on a night when there was no entertainment.(I think sunday or monday, can't remember)
Big mistake on my part! It just seems like Raglan Road is the type of place that would be much more fun with music and a raucous atmosphere. I look forward to going back when the place is more jumping!!

We ate there awhile back and it wasn't so good. We had reservations and they sat us in the bar area? We were not in the main area and had the bar guy as our server. So need less to say we had horrible service. The food was not that great either. My husband's mother was born in Ireland and he is used to the food. He said it was some of the worst imitation of Irish food. Maybe they were just having an off night. After our expierence, we would not try it again.

I would suggest trying it for yourselves. Maybe you will actually sit in the restaurant and get a real server.

Anybody know where i could find the entertainment list for this place?? Hopin to go in july :sohappy:

Tuskar Rock is the house band and they play Mon.-Sat. beginning around 6pm. The Irish dancer performs intermittently beginning around 9pm Mon.-Sat. So there is no live entertainment on Sunday evenings.

I've heard them briefly, they seemed good. I'm the type to prefer a quiet dinner, so I tend to go to Raglan Road earlier or on Sunday when there isn't any live entertainment. I'm sure there are others around here that could give you their opinion on Tuskar Rock though.
