Dining at Epcot

I think everyone in their brother will say Le Cellier is their FAV and I'm really anxious to try it in September! We're eating VERY late, 8:40p but hey, I'll take what I can get.

My other ressie for sit down at Epcot is for Coral Reef but the reviews of this place scare me! Was thinking of changing to Chef's de France.

So my question, what are your top 3 sit downs @ Epcot?

Another question, do any of these restaurants have a dress code? I can't imagine how, because if you're 'parking' it all day, you're probably wearing shorts, tank, tennis shoes. It feels weird going in for a $30+/person meal and wearing shorts....

My 3 faves at Epcot would be the ones you mentioned! Le Cellier, Chefs de France and Coral Reef. I have only been to a handful of restaurants at Epcot but I really love all these restaurants.

I also heard bad reviews about Coral Reef but I thought I would try it myself and I loved. It was our favorite meal of our trip, and we go to sit right next to the tank! The food was delicious and they had great dessert options!

They do not have a dress code but we usually make a reservation for the evening and go back to our hotel to nap or freshen up, then we head back to the parks wearing something a little nicer and clean and then we go to dinner. The rest of the evening we take it slow and it works out well.

HI!

I also have heard poor reviews of the Coral Reef restaurant, but my family and I love it. We probably visit this particular restaurant 2 or more times during our trips. I think that people may not enjoy CR because it does offer a limited menu, and some of their non-sea food items are a bit pricey. Plus, the sea food items that are offered are not your run of the mill fish and chips kind of thing.
however, since they have an ever-changing menu, i have found that most everything is delish! I would not consider myself to be a huge sea food lover, but on our most recent trip in dec '06, they had a blackened catfish on a bed of cheese grits, and it was one of the most savory dishes i have ever tried.
As for the other restaurants that we enjoy at epcot, le celliar of course is a sure thing, and for a different atmosphere, the garden grill in the land pavillion is a good choice. it has character meals, and serves it's food family style. Not only do we find the atmosphere nice, the food is very good. For a long time this was a kind of untapped eatery, but since soarin entered the pavillion its visibility has gone up significantly, so try to make adr's early (we used to be able to make adr's upon arrival a few years back, but no more).
I hope you have fun on your trip! I also hope you do try the Coral Reef and enjoy the meals there as our family has!:sohappy:

For food: Le Cellier, Bistro de Paris, and Chefs de France. Tempura Kiku is also very good if you like tempura. For atmosphere: San Angel Inn (food is OK) and Biergarten (fun for big groups). Coral Reef obviously has a great view, but I wouldn't eat there - you can watch the fish elsewhere in the Living Seas :animwink:

My top 3 Epcot restaurants:

Le Cellier
San Angel Inn
Teppenaki (table-style cooking in Tallahassee is terrible!) I find that the chefs are much more exciting at Disney too!

will be eating at Les Chef de France in 2 weeks for the first time!

HI!

Please give us/me a review of Chef de France when you return from your trip! I JUST cancelled my Coral Reef ressie and made one for Chef instead! I hope/think I made the right choice!

PS LOVE your ears!!! :D

no one mentioned Nine Dragons at the China pavillion at Epcot. The place is huge, good food and they can have you in and out in 45 minutes!

Top three for me:

Garden Grill (always yummy and fresh food)
Le Cellier
Tempura Kiku at Japan

I do not like Nine Dragons, I've had better Chinese food in NC, which isn't saying much. Maybe it was an off night, I don't know...

Tempura Kiku
Le'Cellier
Restaurant Marrakesh

In no particular order. We usually go to Marrakesh on each trip, but this time we chose Le'Cellier instead, we had a 12:30 lunch reservation.

We just tried Le Cellier for the first time last month and it was worth it! :slurp:
We also really like Marrakesh in Morocco for lunch.

Don't worry about wearing park attire to the restaurants, everyone else is too! The signature restaurants at the resorts have a dress code, but as long as you aren't in a bathing suit or "letting it all hang out" you will be ok.

When I had Nine Dragons lunch, it was 2003 but we liked it

When I had San Angel Inn it was 2001 but we REALLY liked it

We had Rose & Crown for IllumiNations dinner in 12/2006 and liked it a lot, but I wouldn't rush back

We had Le Cellier for lunch in 12/2006 and the food was delicious, but still not a staple for each trip

When we had Coral Reef it was 7/1999 and I hated my food, but honestly, it was so long ago... we will be giving it a try again next trip
