Dilemma!

My plans for my Disney vacation may be thwarted a bit. I was planning on going to WDW the first week in December, but there is not Free Dining. Free Dining, for the party that is going with me, would be most helpful. Also, we wanted to go when the Candlelight Processional is taking place.
Should I stick with my dates for the first week in December and just get the rooms at a discount or should I go earlier (the week before Thanksgiving) with free dining and not experience the Candlelight Processional?
The Candlelight Processional is the main reason I wanted to go in December. Also, does any one know how the crowds are the week before Thanksgiving? My pros and cons are too even to figure out a solution!

I would consider everything. If your flying check the prices of the flights to see if its more or less. And be mindful you may lose any ADRs you had planned. I guess if it were me, If I felt the $$$ savings were significant enough, I'd switch, otherwise stay.

Personally, I would go from 12-12 to 12-19 or something to get free dining and see the CP. If the CP is important to you ( and I think it is a great show), you should see it.

I don't know what dates you mean by 'the week before thanksgiving', but 11-23 to 11-30 are extremely crowded.

I cannot go December 11th through the 15th due to a prior obligation. Going 16th-20th would be great, but aren't the crowds heavy during that time?

Yeah, they start to get heavy at that time. I love the CP and I love it when people are able to see the stuff they really want to see, so I vote for the room discount.

The more I think about it, the more I am leaning toward the first week in December. I really would like free dining, but, we will save some money with the room discount to dine at several places, so it will be good. And I really do want to see the Candlelight Processional.

It is my first time at WDW when all the Christmas decorations and festiviites are going on, so I do want to be able to see and experience as much as possible! Thanks all!

I am going the 1st week of Dec too. No free dinning that week partly because Pop Warner will be that week and the taping of the Christmas Parade. Pop Warner will only effect you if your staying at a value resort. They do not really effect the parks. We go every year at that time and we live in Florida and can go any time. We pick that week because we love the Christmas decorations and the candlelight procession. The crowds are usually low that week and worth not having the free DP. The crowds start coming in the following week. We leave Dec 14 just as it starts to get crowded.
