digital downloads at WDW

Okay, I tried this on the digital part of the forums but no luck. I am wondering if there is a place to download images from a digital camera onto disks at WDW (without having to leave the resort area)? If so, where are they located, how much do they charge, how long does it take? Any info would be SOOO appreciated!

Well...the Kodak place on Main Street has a machine...but the last time I tried to use it, it ate half my memory card's files. Peice of junk. And the CMs had no clue how to use it.

Heading for the great escape.
if youve got transport im sure theres a couple of places in Kissimmee I think walmart was doing images direct to CD.

When I was changing jobs last year Kodak was advertising a position to coordinater image services at WDW. The pay was pants so its no surprise that the service is poor.

Walmart did, but is was expensive compared to Walgreens - there is a branch near Animal Kingdom Lodge, just take a right at the crossrads signed to 192 then follow this road to 192, hook a right and you will find it along on the right hand side.

They charge about $3 to transfer a memory card to CD - you have to use one CD per memory card. This price will include index prints. However once you have placed the order and downloaded your imeages it takes an hour and a half for the CD to be made. However you do not leave your memory cards there, so you are free to wipe them and pick the CDs up any time you want.

Memory Stick Pro

From my June 2004 Trip: If you have a regular Sony Memory Stick, you can do it at Magic Kingdom at the Exposition Hall. It cost about $10 and the machine is slow (about 25 minutes) and if there is a line, it could take a whiel. If you have certain Memory Sticks such as a Memory Stick Pro, the machine cannot read it at all. I ended up going to Walgreens as well and their machine could not read the Memory Stick Pro either, however, it was only about $3 to transfer my regular Memory Stick to CD. I went at about 7:30 in the morning and it only took about 15 minutes to get it done. Finally, I did ask at the resorts and the CM's said they would have to send it off and it would be back the following day.

For my next trip, I will either bring along a laptop or more memory sticks.

Although I can't speak to the cost of memory sticks, CompactFlash media is so cheap lately you might as well stock up on memory and not have to worry about it until you get home.

I recently purchased a Canon A75 from Dell (VERY happy with it, and got to use my handy Dell charge), and also bought a 512MB compact flash card for $80. Then I went to the website again last weekend, and that same 512MB card was only $45 - and the 1GB was $85! Those are incredible values, so I picked up another 512MB. That leaves me with one GB of storage - and since I only usually take 2 megapixel pics (my camera can do 3.2 but it seems a waste most of the time), I'm thinkin' I'll be all set for my trip this week. :)

If you can't do that, I echo everyone else - Walgreens is the best. Disney does it several places on-site, but it's very expensive and I've been told the most you can transfer is 120 pictures at a time. If you are on-site with no rental car, it may be worth it to take a cab to Walgreens if you really need it done.
