I haven't seen it yet, but Im curious how it looks to see Mickey's mouth move during some of the show productions.

Was it cool?

I believe the new articulated heads were introduced to the Castle Forecourt Stage show ("Dream Along with Mickey", I believe it is now) in mid-January.

Saw Dream Along with Mickey a couple weeks back and it is VERY cool. Mouths move in sync and eyes blink. Minnie, Mickey, Donald and Goofy all had the new technology.

Also, the articulated faces will be in Mickey's Magic Show, which will be at MGM certain dates this late summer early fall season as part of Little Ones Travel Time.

We saw Dream Along w/ Mickey a few times last month, and they didn't move their mouths or blink in every show. I'd say about 3/4 of the time they used those costumes.

I know because I told my friend about them and he was so excited, but the first time we saw the show, they weren't moving and he called me a liar. Thanks, Mickey.

I still think it's really cool how they control the faces.

Does anyone know if they are using this technology at DLR?n Also, what's the plan for using it with the Meet N Greet characters?
I doubt they would use it with M&G characters, it's one thing to sync to a pre-recorded soundtrack in a choreographed show, but one-on-one guest interaction would be a lot more complex to do effectively.

Because of the way the movements are controlled, these faces will not be used in meet and greets. Mickey would look like he was having a seizure just to sign an autograph.

Just one step closer to the interactive characters SPEAKING to guest.

Not really. They have been working on a head set so that the person can speak and the voice will be heard as the characters voice. So with that and this new facial expression, it'll be very soon.

Not really. That technology is already available.
