Did you know?

While there are hundreds of them, not all of them run every single day.

That's why I thought 20,000 gallons was kind of high.

Sorry about that, I didn't see that part. 20,000 may be a little too high for just buses.

Our bus driver did tell us about the gasoline and our boat driver gave us the information about swan and dolphin. When I said Maimi dolphins it was a joke. Also when I said 3,000ft I was meaning to say 3,000 sq. ft. Sorry I was in a hurry to get all of the stuff on. Anyways, that's what I was told.:D :)

When the Disney Institute first opened, My wife and I went, and the Disney Architecture class was taught by an architect who's local firm had helped on a lot of the WDW projects. Part of the class was the tour of the Dolphin and Swan where he pointed out alot of the Robert A.M. Stern design stylings. Yes, he pointed out the Dolphin-fish, but he said the paint schemes were intentionnally done the way they are. If you are in the Dolphin hotel, you look out your window and see the waves from your room. Likewise, if you are in the Swan, you will see grass. This was to allow for the window view to be consistent with the resort you were in.

Michael Graves designed the Swan and Dolphin. And Robert A.M Stern designed Disney's Yacht and Beach Club

You are correct. Stern also designed Boardwalk. As an Architect I find it impossible to believe that the figures were incorrectly placed. First the connections, structure, etc. all would have been engineered (Especially if the windloading previously mentioned is true (Which is also difficult to believe)). Be that as it may, assuming that someone a massive mistake such as this could have been made (By a large group of people) the cost would not have been an issue. The cost would have fallen on the contractor to correct their error. Construction Drawings (Also known as CDs) are CONTRACTS, the CONTRACTOR agrees to build the building based on the drawings for (usually) a negotiated fee. I can't imagine an Architect being willing to except such a major error in the construction of their design.

One would think that there would be concept drawings floating around out there that might depict the error... Clearly, this image would be a rare find out there... But it would clear things up. I tend to beileve the error, knowing deliveries and construction sites.

Interesting story about the Swan and Dolphin. Wonder which one's true. The second one sounds the best. Besides, arn't the interiors themed right, so it was obviously not putting the wrong statues on the wrong building. The shells on the swan, though, hmm... I guess you can see those from the windows at the Dolphin, so it may be right.

I totally agree Baloo!!!

And with the gas issue: these busses aren;t Honda Civics LOL, they don;t get the best gas mileage. And these things are going nonstop 1hr-2hr before park opening and closing, Then of course Downtown Disney goes till 3am.

If is the rumor about the wrong statures was true.. then Disney would have repainted the buildings. This wouldn't of been costly at all and trust me, they have nothing against painting. (For the love of god, please stop painting my building!!!! It's blue! I promise.. enough with the fumes!!!)

Yeah, it's a bad day in Mouseville when the biggest concern is that the building isn't blue enough...
