Both GM Futurama attractions at the 1939-40 and 1964-65 World's Fairs were wholly created in house by General Motors and their various engineering, architectural, design and decorating divisions, although the art direction of the 1939 version was contracted by GM to the famous designer Norman Bel Geddes. That was back when General Motors was a powerhouse of industry and commerce, building everything from Frigidaire dream kitchens to Cadillac status cars to powerful train locomotives to lunar dune buggies for use on the moon, and could do anything they set their mind to.

GM's Futurama was the most visited and top rated attraction at both World's Fairs. GM's pavilion hosted 26 Million people in the 1964-65 seasons, more visitors than several of Disney's pavilions combined.

It's doubtful that the GM of today, AKA Government Motors and just a weak shell of its 20th century self, would or could ever try something as huge and daring as Futurama II. :o

Did World of Motion display any scenery or props from the original Ford Motors pavilion?

To bad they didn't recreate that ride in tomorrowland. But knowing its in Disneyland I want to see it now. I always thought Horizons was modeled after Futurama which made me think it was the work of Walt Disney.
