Did this character ever appear?

I was watching the old Sing-along Songs: Disneyland Fun tape and at the Grim Grinning Ghosts number, there are a number of "scary tree" costumed characters waving their creepy branches around in the dance. Were these only used for the videos or were they ever used (at DL or WDW) during regular hours?

but i do LOVE that disney sing a long songs video - it's my favorite of them all.

The scary trees, I do remember being really just parade costumes.

Funny...but I don't actually remember them in the Halloween Parade, but I do, strangely enough, remember them in the Easter Parade at DLR.
